5. What are the Tips in handling or having BTC in the wallet for safety keeping?
  • Write down private keys or mnemonic seeds that help you to recover your wallet later (on same or different devices)
  • Save backup files in secret and safe places. Should be Offline.
  • Don't make noise and tell everyone that you are a Bitcoin investors
  • Try to practice wallet recovery, and do it successfully before you buy your first bitcoin and store it in that wallet

I also want to add something.

When downloading and installing wallets. Do not just trust them, verify the signatures. Lots of people have lost a lot of Bitcoin because they downloaded malware that was tricked to them as a wallet.

If you are going to keep a lot of Bitcoins and other crypto for a long time, I suggest you buy a hardware wallet. Some of them go for less than $100.
This part is scary. I know there are lots of malware, phishing sites, keylogger and etc. and was not surprise that even in cryptocurrency they will going to inflect or attack because of potential finacial they could get especially with btc wallets. I bet there are still some people out there that are not aware of this event and just will becoming aware once they become the victim of these fraud.

So how could it be filtered or shall we say to check if it is legit? It can be hard especially if not familiar with the sites and links I usually visited.

Anyway, the man interest here is all about finding a good btc wallet. For now, I have mycelium wallet which I think a good online wallet with some secured features. But it could be still at risk with those people around who are also genius in making a way to disclose wallets credentials like btc private keys or worst the seed phrase.

Questions:

3. If I bought BTC and not successful. Is there any refund I can get?

I remember someone asked me this three years ago, the only way you can get a refund is to sell your Bitcoin at whatever price it is traded in the market, and we are not using the word refund here, because there is no guaranty of profit and you are on your own once you got your Bitcoin because you are your own bank and you responsible how you keep it, how you trade it and how you use it, so the best way not to lose once you acquire your Bitcoin is through learning how to trade, and not ask where you bought it about a refund, because it's not existing here.

Get well soon mate and I hope you will able to recover yourself and soon totally recovered from that illness, that's good that you're positively fighting even though you're infected and now willing to learn about cryptocurrency while doing home quarantine.

This section (Beginners & Help) is the best for your to start learning about Bitcoin, from the technology behind it, how it will use and works, and now how to store your Bitcoin safe, just follow those suggested above because they are right.

Take note, don't invest in Bitcoin if you didn't fully understand how it will work.  Be patient reading and spend your time exploring in forums gathering such precious information.  All your queries were in here and enjoy staying here because that is worth it.

@tranthidung thanks man for the answer.

@lovesmayfamilis well I had done some google search and this is why I came up with the questions I wrote above. However, my problem with google search is that it provide a lot of answers and it varies too which it made me think that google search results are not credible.

Well, I will try the forum search. I think it would be a more precise search or discussions that has been by the forum members. Anyway, thanks Man...

I'm really sorry about your illness, but since you yourself write that you are in quarantine, that is, you have a lot of free time, I would advise you not to post topics with thousands of questions, but just start slowly reading the forum.
Try using the search on the forum. You will receive a huge mass of answers to the questions you just asked.
Stay safe and get well soon.

In addition, your questions are too naive for a person who says about himself that he is not a beginner.
There is still no welcome message to newbie but I am not new actually been registered and been away for a while and forget my account.

1. What is a good offline wallet I could use to store BTC? Are download btc wallet or app would be reliable?
Recommended wallets
  • Bitcoin Core: download it from Bitcoin.org or Bitcoincore.org. Bitcoin Core is too heavy with full node whilst with prune node, you can have other technical problems. I won't recommend you to use Bitcoin Core with prune node, so if your computer does not have too much space (about 500 GB), let's consider Electrum wallet that is lighter
  • Electrum wallet. It has an application for Android and please get Android link to download in the website page, don't search Electrum app in Google Play
  • Wasabi wallet. It gives you Tor connection, Coin Join transaction and better privacy
  • How to Safely Download and Verify Electrum. See the guides to verify Bitcoin Core or Wasabi in download pages

2. How many Keys and what are those keys that I need o save from the BTC wallet?
Depends on the wallet you are using. You can save the mnemonic seed of whole wallet and use such seed to recover all keys, addresses in that wallet. Or you can simply save the private key of a specific public address you store your Bitcoin.

3. If I bought BTC and not successful. Is there any refund I can get?
If you are Bitcoin buyer, it depends on how your trade was done. If the trade is done without Escrow, you won't get anything. Scammer will get your fiat and run away.

If you are Bitcoin seller, remember that Bitcoin transaction is irreversible so make sure you receive fiat (or other payment method) before you do your last step "Release your Bitcoin" for that trade.

4. Can I transfer BTC to someone living in different country?
Yes. You can. Bitcoin transaction and its network are Borderless.

I am one of the millions of people around the world that gets covid19 positive.

I was having only headache and some sleepless night for a week. I think this is the symptoms I get from the covid and very fortunate and hoping that it could not get worst. As of the moment I am fine and nothing to worry about. I just keep myself boosting my immune system by taking vitamins the government has provided though it may not enough but at least I get some vitamins I needed to boost my immune system.

Well, I know you are thinking that this should be kept only to myself and should not disclose to anyone about my current condition but I think can make it here since we are all anonymous and this is what I like the most of the forum. I can express myself freely without the need to disclose my Identity.

No regrets in getting into this forum.

So yes I got covid19 but I am still positive in life. This is why I would like to express my gratitude towards this forum that can help me out of getting bored doing nothing instead I will going to learn a lot and hopefully it will open up an opportunity that can help me grow all the way. I think I can get along with the new technology and how it will going to work since I myself had already the first hand knowledge in the ecperience I get in the cryptocurrency.

Little experience in the cryptocurrency.

Getting into the use of technology and learning cryptocurrencies was not easy. I bought a tiny part of coins specifically bitcoin get me worried in failing the process. Of course my money was at stake but at least I tried and learn and that learnings I get could not be bought with money. Still, I am far in learning other things related to cryptocurrency this is why I guess I am in the right forum to learn more about cryptocurrency.

Impression,

I like this forum that much that I can enjoy especially here in this creepy quarantine facility. This can give me.so much time to read important matters that has been discussed especially the LN network in which I am more interested to know due to its features with low fees but at the same time reliable during transfer of btc. Well, this is the thing that I have in my mind nothing really concrete ideas that will help me to learn the LN Network.

Well, aside from the things I want to learn, I also want to meet friends here. Hopefully there are friendly and nice people that I can meet all the way. I have also some questions below that I think some members could give me idea or answer.

Questions:

1. What is a good offline wallet I could use to store BTC? Are download btc wallet or app would be reliable?

2. How many Keys and what are those keys that I need o save from the BTC wallet?

3. If I bought BTC and not successful. Is there any refund I can get?

4. Can I transfer BTC to someone living in different country?

5. What are the Tips in handling or having BTC in the wallet for safety keeping?

Thanks in Advance for the  aswers!
