How did you obtain this steam credit?  I would like proof of that as well.  I might need to purchase a game from you in the future. Smiley

AFAIK, you cannot get in trouble for getting gifted a game from an account with a stolen credit card. Gifts are often used in trades, and steam itself allows that.

Unless it is the moral implications of the games being bought from a stolen credit card, you have nothing to worry about.
Yeah, but if it's carded/fraudulent there's a chance that Valve will reverse the transaction.

Where is my gift, and why was it removed?
When a gift is refunded due to fraud or a payment dispute, the gift is removed from Steam. The account which redeemed the gift receives a notification that the game is no longer available to play in his or her Steam library.

Wow, nevermind, turns out that they changed this about 3 weeks ago.
That's just terrible for honest users who can their gift revoked after trading for it...

Yeah, I've heard about gifts being reversed many times, so that's why I was wondering about where he obtained the funds.
Furthermore, yes, I would never trade with someone who is using stolen funds.

You can ask the OP to buy them now, and then wait until they're tradable. Charged back games usually don't last more than 3 weeks.

Nope. Not even close. Steam has the same rules as PayPal, pretty much. If you recieve a payment, and you choose to accept it, and PayPal finds the funds fraudulent, your account will get locked.

With steam, on the other hand, you could have all purchases after you recieved the gift revoked and maybe even an account ban. Steam even says "Be wary of receiving gifts from unknown sources."

No, it's has been like this for years.

I took the info from the third line of the /r/steamgameswap wiki here: https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamGameSwap/wiki/revokedgames

No, that rule is for something else.Let's explain it like this: You got $5 worth of CS:GO items and you traded it for a $5 Gift game.If the gifted game would have been revoked you would receive back the cs go items that you traded for the gift game. You no loger can receive the traded items back. That's the new rule.Revoked games were for years
