The old blockchain would only be valid if the church used a client with the same parameters and the same genesis block, basically reviving the coin.

And correct me if I'm wrong.. the church have no reason to revive an old coin while all the support will come to the new coin (?)

The church is just an example, you can take Apple and iCoin for example.

Lets take JesusCoin for example.

This coin has a desired name but will probably die in few days and be forgotten in one week.

Now lets say, some big church make a new coin named exactly the same somewhere in the future,
The new coin get very popular and everybody now this coin as JesusCoin.

In this case, the old blockchain will just become a useless and worthless ?
So the community is the one who decide who called what? because if not I quite understand why a new coin is created every hour, its like a name reservation.
