Undervolt, man. Undervolt and high fan speeds.

metal can carry electrons without being damaged, RAM does not significantly degrade with use, and processing units don't to a noticeable degree either so as long as you add exceptional additional cooling, the fan won't break and all the little components won't overheat.  So really, at low temps, you can run it 24/7 maxed out without it being any different than normal usage.

These cards are not designed to have their GPUs maxed out 24/7 though, as they are not gaming cards.
I'd go so far as to say no GPUs are designed to be maxed out 24/7. There's nothing special about "gaming cards". By default, the cooling/fan setup on GPUs is designed for bursts of heat to allow temps to rise to very high levels, with the fanspeed being a compromise between adequate cooling and fan noise. This is why it's so important to use a custom fan/cooling setup if you're planning on keeping the GPU loaded 24/7. Short bursts of very high heat are harmless, but sustained high temps seriously shorten lifespan.

Now it is, you clueless troll
Ah, now that makes sense. I honestly had no clue what you were trying to say. Thanks!

Firepros and application specific integrated circuits (or ASICs lol) that are application specific to huge memory operations and gigantic 3D skinning with Open CL and Direct X.
That's not even a sentence. lol

Firepros are application specific integrated circuits (or ASICs lol) that are application specific to huge memory operations and gigantic 3D skinning with Open CL and Direct X.  They're not designed for bitcoin mining so they're not incredible at it.  Just saying they're expensive or "good" doesn't really indicate anything.  But yeah, those results people posted are what I've heard you can expect from them.  These cards are not designed to have their GPUs maxed out 24/7 though, as they are not gaming cards.

S10000 is a card meant for compute uses, if it can't bitcoin mine 24/7 with normal ambients and cooling that would make it a questionable product.

Yeah, they're not going to hash worth a whole lot, not to mention ASIC's might wipe GPU mining out in the next few months.

When you say you have 'access' does that mean you own them, or is it work/school?  If you personally own them, you'd be much better off selling them on eBay and buying BTC.  If it's work/school I hate to mention that it's idiotic to steal their power and run someone else's $3500 video cards at 24x7 so they die a gruesome/early death.  Sounds like a good way to lose a job or get kicked out of school for a few bucks a week worth of BTC.

Holy shit, this is how rumors start big time. Work, school? Who said anything about that? Steal power? Lose a job? Dude, you must be a fiction writer or just a dude that likes to spread rumors? I'm now a guy who stole from young kids at a school who is killing all their graphics hardware running a rig at work which I got fired from. What a story.

I have an "in" the ATI/AMD company and able to get "test" video cards. Which means basically free video cards.

That's great, and apology offered.  I certainly wasn't trying to start rumors, but you can't come in saying you may be able to get your hands on a couple of $3,500 video cards and not expect it to raise a few eyebrows.

Though now that you mention it, there was an article in todays newspaper about some OpenToe guy stealing from some School for the Handicapped  Shocked Roll Eyes

Yes, from little blind boys.

Its the wild west out here. We shoot first and ask questions later, son.  Grin

If god insisted that we were kind to people, he would not have made blind/deaf/handicapped people for us to take advantage of.

I totally agree with meatball but i have to comment this

they die a gruesome/early death
If the socalled firepro, "professional" cards are unable to survive being used exactly for what they are made for: computation, then something is epic wrong

I don't believe the Firepro cards are 'compute' cards that are made to crunch numbers 24x7 like BTC mining would require.  They're cards that are built to run heavy duty CAD and Digital Design applications.  Those programs are heavy hitters, but they do not hammer the GPU at 100% 24x7.  I've worked with CAD engineers before.  They'll fiddle with something, rotate it on their screen and then stare at it for 10 minutes, then repeat, they are not hammering the GPU with full load all the time.

For something like that you really need to look at the GK110 Tesla cards from NVidia that are specifically built for 24x7 number crunching.  Of course, we all know NVidia sucks eggs for BTC mining.

Bitcoin / Crypto mining Hardware.
Anyone know the payout of this particular card? I find it hard to find that information on such a new card. I may be able to get several of them. They retail for about $3500 each.

Each S100000 has 2 chips which have same number of shaders as a 7950. One 7950 chip hashes anywhere between 400 - 500 MH/s, depending on clock speed. So an S100000 should hash between 0.9GH/s - 1GH/s. Power consumption should be around 300Watts, with proper cooling. You will be able to mine around 0.3BTC per day at current difficulty, before deducting electricity costs, which could range from anywhere between 0BTC (free elec) to around 0.1BTC (USD $1 - $1.2 / day). To break even at current difficulty and USD 11 / BTC, you will have to mine for atleast 1060 days if your elec is free.
