Essentially, yes.

As I said it may be required very rarely, but when it would be required people will most likely use someone that is already highly trusted. So it would be very difficult to gain people's trust without having past interactions that gained you trust.

You need to start small and work your way up. A situation that would require a mediator would most likely be over a large amount of BTC.

Okay, that's rather disappointing to hear. But thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. Maybe I can find some other skill that's useful lol. Seriously, though, thanks.

Typically the escrow would deal with the disputes, so I don't know if there would be a need for a fourth party to get involved.
Maybe some situation might call for it, but it would be rare.

Good point. So in this case, my service is completely useless?

Hi guys! So, as I've been looking around for work that I can do, I've noticed that really the only way people recommend making money here on the forum is to join a signature campaign, some say faucets, etc... but I want to offer services in mediation. See, I'm a great "people person" as one might say, and I always have been. I don't have any marketable skills yet that pertain to the usual grind of the cryptocurrency world, such as coding, so I feel like being a mediator would be just right for me. My friends all say I'm good at settling disputes. So I'm asking you guys, do you think I should go for it? Would anybody on this forum even have need of my services? And, on a side note, people would not trust me as an escrow because of my rank,  so I would need a trusted escrow to hold the disputed funds. As I type this, I wonder if I am even being sensible. I don't know of anywhere on the Internet that would be hiring for someone like me. I've done research. But, that's another story. I just want to put my people skills to use, while making some Bitcoin (probably from tips to start with) on the side.

Thanks for reading this long-ish post. Have a nice day, to all of you.
