Cryptsafe is right. I don't think all these bombarding would have hit you if didn't have to bring up those "I've been gone for a while", "active here" talk. And I find your needing a trusted member here to be able to disclose your genuine intentions privately a bit off.

Obviously, OP attracted all these to him/herself. Was there any point to prove by bringing up the past, possibly, i was thinking maybe OP account must have changed hands and hence he has no access to it if not why OP not mention the name of the old account claimed to have been working with years back as claimed. That would clear any doubt about OP true identity in the past when it is seen that the account is inactive for that long period of time.

Lastly, of what use does OP thinks his/her idea would be to members here when it is assumed OP to be a newbie. I really do not think OP would get the required attention he desired as it is likely for the to tag OP a scammer.  I would advice OP to be very careful here and concentrate on contributing and adding value to this platform in his/her own capacity.

Hello all,

Coming back here is nostalgy.
I was active here 2016-2020.

Wow, how things changed. I need to find my way here to fit in again.
2016-2020, your date registered shows June 2023, so what happened in 2020-2023???
Well, nothing serious has changed since in the forum and since you've been here before like you claim, I believe you'll know your way around.

It's quite mind-boggling to be bombarded with all these questions when there is absolutely no possible way for me to take advantage of anyone here. I have no interest in doing so. My dear...

You brought it on yourself, my dear. No one would ask you about your past if you approached this forum like a normal newbie would, and slowly and painstakingly built your new online presence from the ground up. But no. The first thing you stated was that you were "coming back" and that you were supposedly very active in this community in the past. It sounded like you wanted to prove something with that statement.

So, no. No one is asking you to share your private information or anything like that. We simply want to know who we are dealing with and what your old username is, if what you claim is true. What's the secret in that?

But, that's not the end of the story. The second thing you did was ask for a loan without proper collateral. Was this a normal thing for newbies in the past? I highly doubt that much has changed in this regard. The Rule of "No Collateral, No Loan" predates your alleged involvement in this community.

Even as a newbie here, applying for a loan would not be feasible for OP because there is no reputation and activities to back up the loan. Irrespective of the fact that OP has been here before, that does not guarantee that OPs chance of getting the loan is broad but rather, the chances are very narrow even if OP is given some consideration, I do not think OP can be trusted with any loan here.

Nevertheless, OP should not complain about the way and manner questions are being asked him about his real account with which OP started with. Starting the platform with such comment or statement would definitely attract eyes on op as it has happened. If OP had silently came back with his or her new account, I believe it would not have raised any dust just as it is ongoing now. OP put him or herself in this current situation. So no need complaining or crying foul.

Well, nothing of much significance has changed or been implemented from 2020 till date except the "OP" tag you see on every thread starter. It was even a fresh member who programmed that with permission from theymos. Going forward, I'm still at a loss as to why you created this thread telling us you had been here before now. I would've expected that you just post away without reliving the past since it's something you've lost hold of. I can be wrong and not know exactly what's going on or is there a catch to starting this thread?

Too bad, you're nostalgic back to the forum starting from the bottom. Losing access to the old account is an incalculable loss, maybe your old account was already ranked higher because at that time there was no merit requirement to rank up. I hope that your second visit can survive on the forum and can increase knowledge about Bitcoin and how to rank up accounts, the merit system implemented on January 24, 2018 requires forum users to write quality posts to rank up.
Your experience at the first opportunity can help you adapt to the forum more quickly. take advantage of free time to stop by the forum, you can get knowledge by reading some useful threads that can help you feel at home here.

We can continue this discussion indefinitely, but I don't want to prove myself. I have some questions, a story to share, and I need advice to restart a business here.

I'm confused about exactly what you want to achieve from your thread.
if you want to restart your Business, then just do it. as long as you do not conflict with the rules of the forum you can read yourself because you are not a new member. I'm sure you'll know where you find them all.

We can continue this discussion indefinitely, but I don't want to prove myself. I have some questions, a story to share, and I need advice to restart a business here.

I also requested a loan. By the way, would you like me to publicly disclose the media website I own, my online identity in the "real world," and my social media accounts here, so that others can benefit from it?

I initially thought this was a section for beginners and those seeking help. However, it seems that most people here are suspicious, which I can understand.

So, to any moderator or trustworthy individual here, could you please send me a private message? That way, I can explain without having to post all my personal details online.

It's quite mind-boggling to be bombarded with all these questions when there is absolutely no possible way for me to take advantage of anyone here. I have no interest in doing so. My dear...

Would you post here public what your merits are, or your colletaral, or your online established identity and show what you are doing now?

This isn't about me, but I have nothing to hide and I could never find myself wanting to prove myself publicly by looking for someone as you say "trusted" to verify you as a "good person" by revealing some things about yourself privately. I honestly don't care where you're from or what you've been doing in the past, it's not recommended to write about such things on the forum anyway, at least if you care about privacy.

Some trusted figure here on the forum can talk to me. I have questions, and I have something to offer. Just listen and draw your conclusions.

What you seek does not really make sense, because if you have good and legitimate intentions, I don't see why it should be resolved through private messages and why should anyone say publicly that you are a good person? It seems to me that your old account hides some negativity because you did some things that were not in accordance with the rules of the forum, and now you're looking for a way to fix it somehow.

The rules of the forum are clear and not secret so you can read them, as well as any other recommendations for using the forum.

Maybe this post will shed some light to see where I come from?

Is good to have you back and like you said, so much have changed too but since you have been here before things won't be that hard for you to get, the rules are still the same or should I say more rules have been added, new users  new campaigns and all that, just roam round the forum you might find more interesting things to engage on and contribute to.

No.

In those times I had many email accounts. All connected to virtual phone numbers, if needed, or emails that where considered "safe" in those days. That changed a lot. So, yes. I will find my username when I was active here and find a way to restore that, if I don´t have to verify that it´s me. All those phone numbers attached I don´t have anymore. I have been gone for years.

But it is not really the point, although I will try to sort that out. Let me start as a newbie. I have nothing to hide and I am not "on to something".
I asked for a loan here, yes.For reasons. Very good explainable. Some Trusted Guy is able to verify if I am "good" very fast. So contact me.

But as soon as a well-known person approaches me here, just to check if I'm legit, they will be able to immediately share with everyone whether I'm legit or not. Let me start as a newbie.

It's complicated. I understand, but if a serious person reaches out to me (via PM, I can't disclose all my "online presence" here in public), they will quickly see that I come here with good intentions.

I don't know how else to say it.

So let's say the most well-known and trustworthy person on this forum comes to me just to "fish" for information. Nothing more. I don't need anything. Ask me the right questions, and you'll know very quickly.

That will make it easier for me. I know it's difficult to communicate with all the scams on these forums. But smart people can quickly figure out if someone is legit. And I'm an "online presence." I have a website, a serious news website, along with social media accounts. But I can share that information with people who won't misuse it but use it to see who I am.

Some trusted figure here on the forum can talk to me. I have questions, and I have something to offer. Just listen and draw your conclusions.

English is not my native language. I don't know how else to explain it.

GiftedMAN,

I will do that. I would love to talk to someone who is established here (Private) to tell him/her my skills and even more, if needed. He/she will notice I am a serious person and maybe give me the right tips before I start offering my service and maybe making a shop with the danger that I am doing something what was normal in those days but is"not done" now. I might be a newbie here again, but online I am not at all. I´ve been quite active last years online. But in a complete other "niche" if that is the right word?

If you do a review of the responses of members you will understand that one question is outstanding. The question is what happened to your former account? It is clear that you don't want to answer the question and you are pushing the question aside. It is okay that you want to keep your details secret Do you think that sending message to an established member will answer the question. This is a community and for you to be a trusted member you should have integrity. This is because people will not be sure if they are dealing with a member that might have violated the rule of the forum. If your experience is relevant to members it will be good to have you here. Your seriousness will be determined by how well you contribute to the forum.

I believe we have so many established members here which you can talk to and since you are not new in the forum according to your statement, you won't find any thing difficult here again just make sure you are being honest with yourself. Concerning the services that you render, you can check the service board for more information on how things are done there but it will be wise if you are able to establish yourself a little bit at least get good reputation so that members won't see you as a scammer.

Did you lose your first account or did you decide to created this new one you are using? You should have encountered a merit system at that time, right? yes, indeed there have been some changes in this forum, but this is what makes this forum better. And no matter what happened to your old account before, of course you have experience, with the length of time you have been here. This should be one of your considerations to become even better at contributing to this forum. However, if you have forgotten a few things, you should be able to spend some more time reading through various information updates on this forum. Especially on this beginner's board, you can get some important information that is shared on this board, especially related to this forum and how you should be here.

And, if the reason for your return is to run some kind of business here, then your reputation is the single most important thing that you could carry over from your previous account. It's rather surprising that you seem uninterested in doing so. Or perhaps there's a reason behind it?

lol! You are welcome back to the forum. Things are not like before again everything or most of the things have changed you have to equip yourself to adapt to the new system. And all you have to do is to navigate around the forum and read good posts so that you can refresh your memory back to the forum again. Since you are a returning student, or user, you are not new in the forum, all the rules are still intact. And you have more knowledge compare to newly registered users. Good day, everyone!

I wanted to reintroduce myself to this forum because I used to be a member here around 2016 or 2017.

Well, @Freedom4All, let me believe that it's a coincidence that you got into this forum in the same year as @NerrawBTC. while both accounts were created in the same month but just a few days apart.
If you truly lost your way around here and probably found your way in again, just find your way around again and stop creating unnecessary threads like this without any serious questions or discussion going on. Alright, let me ask you: What do you want users here to do for you now?

What are the skills that you have, you have to first of all promote your skills and see if people would be interested in hiring you. To do that is quite easy on the forum, just make a post in the service section advertising what your skills are. I don't know if you will be making the thread with this newbie account, but mind you that there's a lot of competition in that section, thus quite a lot of people would be reluctant to hire a newbie account who doesn't have a reputation yet on the forum.

Many responses. I didn't expect that.

My OP is not intended to claim anything.
What I wanted to convey with my original post is that I see that things have changed here. There is no more VCC sales. No more need for translators. No more people needing help with verification. The things I used to be involved in have now almost disappeared, from what I can see.

And because I want to come back to this world, I need to orient myself towards what is currently in high demand so that I can provide it with the skills I have.

Four years of activity is a long time. But what do you want to tell us all? Why didn't you come to the forum with your old account? After all, we see new accounts here daily that claim to be newbies, did you decide to change your statement to say that you are a former old-timer here? Tell me, then, who were you in a past life? Grin

Coincidence or not, another new user has appeared claiming to have been a member before, but he can't remember his username or password. Obviously, both of them have a very bad memory, because I can still understand someone forgetting their password, but forgetting the username they've used for years is a bit harder to understand.

Not that I'm accusing anyone, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone plays merit fishing games🎣

Hello there, glad that you've been back. Yeah, a lot have changed since you haven't here for a long time but that's fine. What's important is that you're back so be active again. But even if you've been inactive for a long time, did you manage to accumulate and sold some during the 2021 bull run? And if yes, that's good and we're approaching another bull run anytime soon but most likely after the halving next year.
If not, then learn from your experience and don't let this pass and accumulate while you can still right now before these prices inflates before and after the halving.

You are again Welcome to this forum. Hope you will enjoy your new forum journey. If you are talking about changes of the forum nothing have changed at all. Because you last saw this forum at 2020 when merit system is already implemented.
Many newbies have joined this forum and many newbies got higher ranks and that are the changes. And the another change is that you maybe lost your account access or been restricted so you are now starting from the beginning. If would be better if you make points about the changes and share with us.

If you are talking about crypto industry then some changes happened like NFT launched, many new concept launch like MoveToEarn , Launched some new Blockchain etc.

Four years of activity is a long time. But what do you want to tell us all? Why didn't you come to the forum with your old account? After all, we see new accounts here daily that claim to be newbies, did you decide to change your statement to say that you are a former old-timer here? Tell me, then, who were you in a past life? Hello all,

Coming back here is nostalgy.
I was active here 2016-2020.

Wow, how things changed. I need to find my way here to fit in again.
Welcome back! The reason for abandoning your former account is important. This is to ensure that you are not breaking the rules of the forum. But I guess you are aware of these rules because you have already spent four years in the forum. It will be good if you go through the forum and get more knowledge about new developments in the forum. There is also a need to read about the Bitcoin space and some recent development. I am sure some of your former mates or friends in the forum are still around and you will also find some new friends. There are also some new rules like the forum don't accept the use of artificial Intelligence to write post. The use of bots for post writing is highly prohibited just like plagiarism. I guess you know other rules even more than me. Not to worry in a few days you will be familiar with the forum again.

Mentioning yourself in detail will clear up any questions that arise. You say this is nostalgia then you already have a high ranking account of course and maybe it can't be accessed again, or you just end up as a newbie from start to finish.
active from 2016 is a senior if you develop and have a good contribution in the forum.

Just like some others have already asked, I'm also curious. OP, what happened to your main account? The one you allegedly used the forum with until 2020. Have you lost access? Why don't you try to recover it? If you have lost your password or access to your email address, there are still methods you can use to recover your old account.

Welcome back mate. You sound like a well established member here before your break. If I may ask did you by any means had any issues in the past that discouraged you from continuing here as a member? Or you lost access to your account? If you truly lost access you could be able to retrieve it back or possibly a change of hands because I was wondering if you have been here for this long based on what you posted here you should know your real account to access it mate.
Sorry for me being too inquisitive. I am very curious to know mate.

Hello all,

Coming back here is nostalgy.
I was active here 2016-2020.

Wow, how things changed. I need to find my way here to fit in again.
For real!
This feels so comic coming frm you right now.
I mean, 2020 was just 3years ago, not completely 3years but, for someone who has been active through 2016-2020, finding your way around shouldn't be something to reference. The forum hasn't changed much except for the creation of a Nigeria local board and the addition of the notation OP to the starter of a thread.

Can't say I wasn't disappointed when I saw on your profile that the account was created only today and your 2 days activity showed that, the account haven't been around very much or active too.

I wonder,
What happened go your active account? Why aren't you using those?

welcome back to the foum, i dont think their is any moderation in the forum rules and regulation, but since it as been long that you left the forum here, you might have forgotten some things, so i will like you to check out the forum rules and regulations Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ, also this thread will also be useful Read before posting.  But you account was created today, how will you claim that you have been on the forum before. if you have being here before you should have just continued with the account, their is no use for you to create a new account or do you loss access to your old account?

I have spent three year or so in the forum apart from the quality of starter thread dropping I don't think much has changed on the forum, even if there was a change it is not too noticable. And even though I wasn't here as far back as 2016 I believe in terms of the forum land scape not much has changed.

I believe it would also be best to tell the forum about your previous account since you have already brought it on the table about you being here as far back as 2016 but this account you posting with was registered today

Changed in terms of what?

Bitcoin price? DeFi, NFT hype? Forum operations?
Personally, from 2020 to this date, nothing much has changed except the crypto prices and maybe hype. Forum is still almost the same as it was with very minor changes.

Just as every other user has asked,  I think it will be very wise of you to come answer some of this questions and at least ease the curiosity  of the users as some persons truly wanted to know what happened  to your account and if there was anyway anyone could you get access to it if you still  need it.
I've been on the forum  for almost a year now and I haven't  ry noticed any significant changes so far and it seems the forum doesn't really make any reasonable changes to its mode of operations and I'm sure the forum wouldn't be any difficult for you since you've been once very active on the forum.

Welcome.

Why did you come back with new account, what happened to your old bitcointalk account? What do you want to learn now that you are here again, can we expect to see you active here for about 2 years or you'll vanish again as you did before? Not trying to sound rude but to know if truly you've come to learn more here. Secondly, what have learnt so far before you left, what do you want to learn now you here, what challenges you encounter in the ecocrypto, can you solve them now or you still get more to learn. It's better you know your stand and be straightforward to studying crypto and Blockchain technology at large.

Welcome back to this platform, and let me tell nostalgia will hit you like something has changed so that's what you are suffering right now you need a doctor, or maybe you can spend some time and get familiar with the boards, new moderators, new members, new hype, new adoption, new developments in BTC blockchain etc. etc. to break your nostalgia.

Did you lose access to your original account or just chose to register a new one here?

I have been here since late 2018 and from then till now very little has changed. If there's something this forum is known for it is not making any changes to how it operates and relying on the status quo of operations. You would have no issues fitting into the forum again if you've remained active with Bitcoin discussions in general.
