Dear community. Has this also happened to anyone? I was trying to connect my trust wallet to  pancackeswap but it return error every time. Then I went to pancackeswap website and clicked a link to their telegram group and joined. I immediately received a phone call and I explained my problem. I was sent a link to troubleshoot the problem: www.app.walletimports.com and followed the procedure. I didn't know it was stealing my secret  key because I believed that pancackeswap is a reputable company. They stole my 0.055 BNB. Be careful with that telegram group.

The point of us being scammed is that it's too easy to believe people who claim to be admins, this is an old trick that I often encounter when I get into trouble, they use the admin tag because they hope to cheat, this is what makes real admins usually use the not DM first tag , and hopefully we can learn from this.

Another lesson for us related to Telegram again. Honestly speaking these companies are all like yeah I’m set to scam this person from my group today. Lolz. How can there be so cheap f’s around us. This is really way above my head whenever I see post like this. The story they tell is always similar to someone else happened already. This is also increasing at alarming rate somehow as we see surge in new investors. Basically it’s another wolf of Wall Street with too many wolves around us to scam us. It’s also not mistake of you or me but the perfect plan they plot takes us inside them. So here is another story for all of us. Hope everyone learns!

Telegram groups that have many members will sometimes do something to trap the members. Maybe take the opportunity to create your own project and then be promoted in your own group and many will buy but there is a crime in that project. I'm always careful with choosing the right project,,?

Telegram is the best place with many scammer try to scam you, lately every time happening when I am asking about my withdrawing or deposit coin on exchange market like LBANK or Hotbit exchange market. Few minutes later have new chat as scammer try to help me but I don't believe anything with telegram helping because many of them as scammer, better never try to explore your problem on telegram group because is bad reputation with any scammer looking for new victim every day.

Well there are certain uqe you can not do, remember that there are many scammers and who do whatever to steal like this is 1 SATASHI or some BNB fraction, but you had a mistake, go directly to an unofficial group and by Telegram, what you have what to do before entering a group of telegram or discord is to look good for the possible solutions by YouTube or looking for the solutions by Google, more when they tell you that you have to follow a link and give your private keys, your private keys are unique and with Nobody must share, under any circumstances, less for a page, anyway, the experience that you should not do so again.

I have to say OP is not the first person to get scammed on telegram, he is not the last one either. Scamming basically a "profession" by some people, I have literally seen people with 10-11 different methods that they try every single day on hundreds of different people, from phishing to spamming weird stuff to many many other methods. So, I have to say that there is a good chance scammers will continue to keep scamming people and there is no stopping them.

I remember that there were a lot of people who scammed people inside casinos, like literally "give me your money and I will gamble better than you could gamble", how the hell so many people fell for it is beyond me. So, there are too many ways to scam but also there are some gullible people as well, there are always some people who end up losing a ton of money to these stuff.

Why do you need to check in the telegram group? You know there are so many scammers there. You can check the correct link through coingecko and cmc.

That's true but basically Telegram is also a platform to get information even if it's only at a glance and for a more complete one it is definitely on coinecko and cmc because they are two sites that are very often used by everyone in finding out about all information about tokens and coins
If you can navigate the sea of scammers that is telegram then by all means use it to check news sources or whatever you want, however if you cannot or you simply do not want to bother with all the people that are going to DM you to see if you will fall on their scams then it is better to use other sources to check the news related to the project.

I know that people prefer the convenience of telegram but if the price you have to pay for it is to expose yourself to scammers then it is not worth the risk to use such platform.

Friend, you fell for a scammer posing as an admin or pancake agent. I have never fallen for them, I usually tell them to accept Jesus as their Lord and personal savior and thereafter report spam and block them forever, sometimes I don't have time for conversation, I just report spam straight.

Things like this have often happened because scamers are always looking for ways to be able to deceive every user who is negligent in maintaining the security of their wallets, so do not easily trust the telegram group that gives you even though they give you a name with excharge that has become our mainstay as it happens to you, then the connection of each wallet to the scamer website is very dangerous, In this case, we must be careful.

The main rule that everyone should remember is that they repeat over and over again. You need to keep your keys and access passwords as safe as possible, you can even keep a separate laptop for this purpose. Sites can steal cookies, and hashes, telegram bots can send infected pictures or attachments. We must always remember this.

This kind of scam has been also happened in many cases and some other also have stated in this forum.
Many people are only attracted to the profits that are promised, higher promises will really be very sweet that make many people have very big desire to join the investment or certain programs without any further analysis. Moreover right now, there are so many fake telegram groups or channels that impersonate like their original or official groups of certain platforms.
And here, we must be more careful, never only desired on something rewarded very promisingly or potentially. Always do check and crosschecks, further analysis, and also official information from the official sites of the platforms to minimize the cams.

Make sure the person who contacts you is the real pancackeswap team before you give them all the information. I have experienced many times that the person who contacted me isn't the real team, he only used a telegram username almost the same as the real one. Moreover, the real team of exchange probably doesn't ask for very secret information such as password, key phrase, private key. They don't need this secret information to solve the problem. If someone asked about it, you must suspect there is something wrong with the person.

They are actually reputable but the problem is that you have been tricked by someone who is not a part of the company, you've missed it out and clicked the pishing site leading to such a scam.

Lesson #1:  Don't easily click the link from an unknown person especially when asking for any information in regards to wallet access/keys.
Lesson #2: Don't easily trust people online especially if coming from a telegram group (unless if you know them) as there are many scammers around us.
Lesson #3: Only use and contact their support group when there is a problem/concern with your transactions.

Most newbies or even long timers will learn their lesson the hard way. And usually, it is already too late before they realize that someone who contacted them is not the official rep of the site.
I have experienced that a lot of times, though in different crypto exchange.
If you try to post in their official telegram group about your issue, someone will immediately contact you.
And the problem is, they are usually in disguise using the username of the exchange account or using the official logo.
Try to validate first if they are indeed part of the official admin group, check their official accounts and compare the username of that person.
Sometimes they are good in disguising if you don't verify their identities. And once you found out that they are fake accounts, one thing they do is delete their account.
That is based from my experience. So high likely that the OP was contacted by fake official account of pancakeswap and he fell for it.

This is a very terrible situation, many scammers are always updated and provide a very easy way to confuse a newbie just fall in their trap. I always try and avoid unrecognized chats from unknown Telegram members because, scammers use Telegram as the easy trap because almost all crypto project and exchanges usees Telegram, so we have to be cautious and always put it in our mind that Admin will not DM you first

You may not like it but scammers like that are part of the market and are always trying to look for an opportunity to earn some easy money, this is why you must not trust anyone with information that could give them access to your coins, it does not matter what they say or who they try to impersonate, do not give that information away, because the moment you do so then that is the moment you will lose your coins and you will never see them again.

On the off chance that you experience such way when it comes reaching support better to get out quickly while its not late to forestall hacking. Pancakeswap is a legitimate organization the reason is your obliviousness on giving your private key and joining an informal message bunch. You need to re-check the site that you made, companion, since this can influence your next exchange.

Once a man, twice a child!
This happened to almost all crypto newbies I know I'm sorry for your loss now I believe you've learnt your lessons, no one will DM you for legit reasons it's always scam DMs, here are other things to look out for

1. Don't run after what's not yours, when you see unknown tokens in your wallet address it's a scam, they will trap you once you try to sell the tokens, just ignore the tokens you don't know anything about

2. Use coinmarketcap to get the real tokens and coins websites and contract address and always disconnect your wallet from any connected Dex or website after purchase is been done
Your first paragraph should also have been numbered too because it contains viable advice. In every crypto telegram group, the mods and admins always have that tag of "we won't DM you first". It's a policy thing for projects because they know that a lot of scammers are on the loose seeking whom to devour. But I've seen a lot of peeps not reading at all. Most times they ask questions whose answers had been answered by the poster right before them. Yet, they won't know because they don't read.

In same manner, I find a lot of strange tokens in my Trust Wallet that I didn't buy. I get to see the tokens only when I run a bscscan on my wallet. Without that, I only see the tokens I bought myself. So, do I chase or try to claim those strange tokens? Of course, not. I know doing that will lead to a wallet hack. But I know a lot of people fall for that kind of scam. It's greed that leads to that. If you didn't buy it, don't attempt to claim it. It's a gimmick that will eventually get your wallet hacked.

Number 2 is the right way to go. Always follow projects by getting their links through CG or CMC where they're listed, and not through a back door.

I don't know how many people do this but I believe it is a better way to get to any exchange be it DEX or CEX. I will always go from the exchange link on Coinmarket Cap or Coingecko. This way I believe I am connecting to the right exchange and have that bookmarked for future use. I hardly connect to any lint from telegram it is from the Admin and getting a call instantly was even suspicious. Sorry about your loss.

Binance #Smart World Global Token

It is quite unfortunate that there are many scammers who are taking advantage of many people in this industry. And these scammers are very creative on finding ways and means to get their victims. I am one of the victims too...having lost my BAKE tokens from my Trustwallet and until now I could not still fathom how the scammer was able to withdraw the tokens because I am already aware to never share the private key to anyone...the big fault I made was not having the password set-up for the wallet which Trustwallet do also require the same for every transaction. a big lesson for me and for all of us to do everything to safeguard all of our digital assets...and lately I saw many tokens just entered my wallet for no reason and now I know those are scams too.

You were scammed for $30.00 USD (0.055 $BNB). As far as crypto scams go, you got off extremely lightly. I hope you learn from this and do some research on how to stay safe in the crypto world before you go any further.

1st tip: The Binance world is the home of the most scamming by far. Find a new pond to play around in.

2nd tip: never use the compromised account / wallet again. The scammers own it.

3rd: DO NOT USE THE DEVICE AT ALL that you installed the bogus app on for anything important. No banking, no financial apps, no important personal data, etc. The scammers almost certainly have installed malware alongside the fake app (you gave them permissions to intall an app and link your wallet) and likely own that device.

You need to completely wipe that device, it's operating system, and reinstall everything from scratch.

A good place to learn about crypto FOR FREE is "DAN Teaches Crypto". Their security and safety lesson is about 1 hour, and well worth the time investment. Judging by this posting, you ought to do the whole free course.

Good luck.

can you give us a link or picture of the telegram group so that we are also careful because currently there are many fake telegram groups disguised as the original pancakeswap group...

It makes no sense to publish fake groups here, since someone will definitely follow these links and may lose money. It is much easier to learn how to correctly identify the original website and social networks of the project using Coinmarketcap data.
All you do need is common sense but there are people who do really lack this kind of thing which would really be resulting on losing money.Everything which turns out to be good to be true then better
have doubts on dealing or transacting with it because it is mostly a scam and also  dont believe easily with those groups if we do consider on how rampant the scams are
which had been using up these messaging platforms and other means then you would really able to save up your ass up on these conditions.

Indeed now more and more lively fraud via telegram and also gmail, this is what we need to be aware of because they just want to try to deceive us in any way just for the sake of getting our personal data.
I've also had an incident like what you said but I realized it myself because it was just a scam. What's more if it's dealing with our crypto wallet, it must be guarded as well as possible.

Telegram has been the most used avenue by scammers to perpetuate their dastardly activities, scammers cloned binance Telegram group and used it to scam unsuspecting newbies, it's a pity the OP fell for this kind of trick probably the OP joined a cloned pancackeswap telegram group created by scammers unknowingly gave out private keys to the wrong hand, a further research or enquires using google would have resolved that issue of not connecting the two wallets.

Sending a DM is the easiest method we can avoid if we are vigilant, when we want to connect a wallet, make sure to look for a lot of information, currently the easiest way for scammers is to send BSC or MATIC tokens by including the address on the official site so people will be interested in going there.

You have been scammed, all the official teams from the telegram project will definitely include it (not DM first), so if you receive a DM from anyone without you ever asking, then it is scammers, when your wallet is connected to the site they provided, they have recorded the private key and they will take anything there, of course this is a valuable lesson for anyone not to believe in DM first.

I have used Pancakeswap at some time months ago and just by seeing the link that you shared, its pretty obvious that it is a phishing link already. I don't know but that site isn't linked to pancakeswap and it is being linked to a scammer who scammed you.

Social media platforms like Telegram and Discord are the ones where scammers are lurking. They will try to send you a DM out of nowhere especially if you posted that you have a problem in their official channel. Just beware and if they will ask for seed phrase then end the conversation already. I don't know if its only me but I can sense if the person I speak with is a scammer or not base on what they are saying. Just beware next time and I hope you learned from this that happened to you.

Telegram community is one of scammers place, many scammers and fraudster knows to disguise and make fake accounts that alike with a legit group. And because of this, many falls into this trap especially the newbie ones since they aren't inspecting and investigate if the group was only made for fake accounts, they would immediately believe that the telegram can give them opportunity. I have a lot of examples to this especially the airdrop campaigns, bunch of fake airdrop campaigns in the telegram generates fake links and phising sites that allows your wallet or private keys to be get by their links.

I'm surprised that you are wearing a full member rank and yet you fall to this cheap trick, never share your private key whoever ask it, that's the first rule of the thumb it's a warning that applies to all project and application, Pancakeswap is a reputable company the cause is your ignorance on giving your private key and joining an unofficial telegram group.

personally, I've never experienced that on pancakeswap. have you tried login in from a trustwallet or from PC? so many questions about it. I can conclude, it's probably a phishing site or something. besides, in telegram there are so many scammers there, so i never trust the person who first pm me. You have to re-check the site that you created, friend, because this can affect your next transaction.
Thanks for your time to comment. I will never be stupid again

if you're in the right site of pancakeswap, probably its impossible to happen, but if you visit the wrong site that provides links and etc for sure it's a scam because indeed pancakeswap has their own chat room for support within the site.. So if you encounter such way when it comes contacting support better to get out as soon as possible while its not late to prevent hacking..
I was in right website and I clicked the link to the telegram group and it less me there. Maybe Pancackeswap has to look into this issue.

Big mistake OP, before entering a url in trust wallet browser you should triple check first the correct and legit URL, if you are unsure you can search it in Coingecko or Coinmarketcap and not anywhere else. I hope you learned you lesson now and be very careful next time you use exchange URL.

It looks like you have linked your wallet to a fake pancackeswap site, because if you link it to a real pancackeswap site I think your funds will be fine there, lately because of the popular DEFI trend many newbies fall victim to scams because many of them not careful and unable to distinguish real sites and fake sites when connecting the wallet to the DEFI exchange.

I think its not the official website of pancakeswap because the one who called you is a scammer.

Thats why we need to be extra careful on clicking links, it might be a phishing site to steal your info. Did you input your keys? If so then it might be the reason why you lost your BNB.

Anyway its a lesson learned for you and newbies should be aware on this kind of tactics.

This is what they're doing they set all the traps to steal our funds, to avoid such kinds of scams, we need to keep in touch with our senses and think about the probability whenever we get some offer, we think it as if it scam. so whenever they start to ask something, it's automatically a red light and it's the time for us to back out. But the best thing to avoid such tragedy is to ignore it every time we received such offers, whether it is from emails or in our personal inbox.

It's gone forever, don't believe with such customer supports that would ask you to import your wallet and connect to any given website. It should be only you that would be connecting to the official pancakeswap and any other website that you're trying to connect.

I find telegram a very creepy place, there are so many DMs in my account and I just ignored them all of the time. Unless it is the one that I have DM first. They mostly use sexy female pictures and greet you first like they are asking to date or something similar. The funny thing is my telegram has so many deleted accounts named, it's understandable that all of those arr just dummy accounts and used to scam people, I bet those behind those accounts are muscular and bearded person I guess.

In order to avoid telegram group members being scammed, administrators of most reputable telegram groups in most cases will inform the group members that they will not DM you first, that is, they will not contact you first. So, the fact that you were contacted first means that there was indeed an ulterior motive behind the contact. Currently, there are numerous scam telegram groups bearing the same name as original telegram groups.

I had a recent observation as regards Santa coin telegram. I observed there were two telegram groups bearing ‘Santa Coin Official'. One of the groups, numbering about 9318, as at the time of making this comment, was doing a promo. The promo requires that if you send Santa Coin to a particular wallet address, they will send back 3 times the value back to your wallet. There were testimonies of those have already benefited from the promo on the telegram group. Messages in this group were locked. The other telegram group, which is the original group, numbering about 14175, had nothing of such being discussed, except the usual encouragement to buy Santa Coin. The messaging is open, so I, decided to ask if there are any on-going promo whereby, you get three times Santa Coin when you send to an address, the group reacted immediately that there was no such thing, that it must be a scam. This implies that people are out there, fully prepared to scam people that are not careful enough to ensure they are in the right telegram group.

It is our responsibility to cross check before we make any payment. Atleast you've got scammed of small amount which is around $30 in present value of BNB. There are people who've got scammed of big money. From the description it looks like you've got into a phising site and has used scammer group's telegram support. You need to be careful, because no support will request to send amounts in BNB or in any other form to solve issues.

In most cases they initially take control of the wallet and further request for deposit of funds to retrieve the wallet from their control.

You should have not been too naive. Just because some things have the word "official" doesn't mean you should trust all of their bullshittery. Even if you got the first link from the legit PCS site, it's not meant for a support service, even themselves has stated that they didn't offer any single support system. The Telegram group they offer is just mainly run by the community.

"Admin will never DM first" this is a golden rule when you are using telegram. There's a lot of scammer waiting for user like you to trick you that they are and you to go on shady website to fixed your problem. Admin will never let you connect your wallet on a website didn't belong to the project itself in your case PancakeSwap. You will receive lots of scam PM everytime you post a question to your wallet.

One must be always very careful when an unknown person gives the link to click. You must be double sure when clicking links from an unknown person it might be a hacker impersonating someone else. I might feel the hacker spoke to you as a Pancakesswap support executive and you have been trapped by him. Even don't try to connect those coins that are in your wallet as a free airdrop. Always double-check the website you are accessing or connecting your wallet. Many newbies scammed like this in the starting we all learn this by our bitter experiences.

Telegram. No. That is the home of the scammers. Their reputation is being wrecked by those evil minds.
To your problem, it is your mistake. Whenever someone pm's you, checking the credibility of it should be the first thing on your mind. By clicking links like you said, yes perhaps you were redirected to the right support of Pancakeswap but it doesn't mean anyone who will pm or call you is from their office. It could be anyone who saw your query and you became a target. You can just jot this one in your experience lists and create a new account.

I don't know if you just mispelled it here in this post but you are writing pancakeswap with an addition "k" so you wrote "pancackswap" this could have also been the reason why you have been scammed or why you landed on the wrong website when you tried to connect your wallet. I can imagine that this is all part of the scam system. You go to the wrong website then of course your wallet connect doesn't work then you get a message that you need to join the "scam" telegram group and in this telegram group it says that you need to contact the phone support which tells you to do stuff so they get your tokens.

That is one of many ways that scammers will do to trick users. I have experience can not access PancakeSwap but then I do not force myself to keep trying to access the exchange and make sure my internet connection does not have any trouble. Maybe I will wait for 5-15 minutes before I access it back.

I never knew if PancakeSwap has a telegram group so I do not know about that. Actually, you should feel strange and suspicious when someone phone calls you and suggest you send the troubleshoot to a different website instead of sending it to the PancakeSwap website directly. In this case, you can not do anything as your money is already sent to them. I am sorry to hear you lost. I believe you will make a big profit in the future.

The fact that they called you is already suspicious enough for me. Pancake swap is a reputable exchange so there's no way they'd scam that much and ruin their integrity. Are you sure the one who called you are really the support though? or just impersonating supports?

Be careful next time though. Don't answer calls from someone saying they are from support because they are most likely a scammer. It's customers who calls the support.

Op, I believe it's good that the amount of money you lost is not very significant because it could have been much worse. Are you sure you joined an official telegram group chat rather than some chat created by scammers? Just by a simple act of googling, I found this list of groups and channels. They do have a Telegram group chat, but they write down many times that the admins won't ever DM you (I believe same goes for calls by extension) and that the chat is for announcements only (not troubleshooting). So it looks like scammers simply join the chat, seek for people in trouble, DM them as official representatives, guide them to basically providing all their wallet access info via a website that allegedly helps recover the money, and get the money from the actual wallet, using the data the victims entered, themselves.

Pancakeswap is a reputable company but ... people are only people. If you are employed as support and earn 500$ monthly and someone comes with 1 000 000$ inside wallet and gives you private key without asking ... most people will not think for a second about what to do. Thats why you never share your private key no matter with who you think you are talking.

But most likely it was not the case in your situation. Its highly likely that you were phished (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/guide-use-this-for-identifying-scamphishing-websites-exchanges-in-crypto-5122515) to fake site and fake telegram group or, whats even more likely, you asked for help on official telegram group and it was spotted by scammer who PMed you - thats super common. Thats why many admins on official telegram groups have "will never PM you first" next to nickname.

It is really strange. Nobody can steal your money until you share your seed phrase or sign the transaction that allows to spend your money. Actually, if you connect your wallet to a reliable web-site, everything must be OK if this web-site is not hacked, so make sure that you tried to connect exactly to this web-site https://pancakeswap.finance/ as there are a lot of scammers who create similar web-sites and then cheat people.

TgNKs for your insights. But I am wondering that I got the telegram link from the official pancackeswap website which led me to a scammer!
