These guys are still in business with all the better wallet options out there Roll Eyes, this is quite interesting... I wonder how they keep finding clients till this day...

Anyway, OP If you have no coins stored on the blockchain.com platform then best option is to leave and not trade your personal details for a few coins in the name of KYC, unless access has been limited and you hodl quite a good amount of coins there then you can go ahead  Roll Eyes

It appears a lot of people here still confuses blockchain.com's private key wallet and custodial wallets. There is no kyc for the former, it is only needed if you wanna use their exchange, hence custodial wallet.

I tried to submit and my ID was declined, though, however, I felt that they've gotten my information and refused to confirm it just to deny me of the $100 offer.

How many times did it fail? once or twice is totally normal as verification softwares are far from accurate. In fact blockchain.com is aware about this and offers manual verification, although I would expect a dreadful amount of time for it to get done  Undecided

also $50 this was when bull market but you need to do KYC and buy crypto there.

Perhaps the hazy memory led to $100 bonus because of "buy $100 cryptos and get $50".

I stopped using blockchain.com when they initiated the KYC thing and offered to pay $100 to customers who summits their documents successfully.
Where did you get that offer? Can you post a screenshot of it? Because if i remember correctly, they offered $25 either on XLM or XRP (I can't remember), then later on $5, also $50 this was when bull market but you need to do KYC and buy crypto there.

make Exodus and Electrum your main wallet, they also have an exchange feature, don't let any wallet limited you for accessing your coin use a noncustodial wallet.
Exodus wallet can indirectly ask you for kyc verification because they are using third party partners that can freeze your coins if you don't comply with their request.
If you want to use multicoin wallet with some kind of exchange better try Unstoppable.money for mobile devices, or AtomicDex for desktop computers or mobile.
In some cases you can even use Bisq as a wallet and best decentralized exchange that exist today.
It's best to stay away from all online wallets, n matter how ''safu'' they look.

I tried to submit and my ID was declined, though, however, I felt that they've gotten my information and refused to confirm it just to deny me of the $100 offer. I had to switch to Trust wallet as it was easier to access my assets without having to verify on email the wallet ID needed to login like Blockchain.com, which dulls the impression of constantly checking one's wallet. They're many other wallets that don't require KYC check them out no need for the KYC on Blockchain wallet.

Another way is that you will need contact their customer support , that's if you have all day.
Their so-called customer support is pretty much non-existent [unfortunately].

make Exodus and Electrum your main wallet, they also have an exchange feature, don't let any wallet limited you for accessing your coin use a noncustodial wallet.
AFAIK, Electrum doesn't have the option to exchange your funds into other cryptocurrencies, and some of the third-party providers that Exodus uses for its exchange feature, already have a history of freezing customers' funds!

OP why are you shying away from having full access? Blockchain company's usually make use of kyc so as to avoid impersonation or an intruder from having access into your wallet as they may not have the informations you provided during kyc process which is why the kyc it's in your best interest. Another way is that you will need contact their customer support , that's if you have all day.

I've been using blockchain for so many years and so are my relatives for the last 10 months there's always been a pop-up asking us to verify so we can use the trading features of the wallet, I can still use my wallet for sending, and receiving and they are not limiting or forcing me to verify because I never get over their threshold limit.
The key to continuing using your account without having to go through verification if you don't want to go through that is to never use Blockchain in storing a big amount, the biggest amount I stored on Blockchain was $150 a month, make Exodus and Electrum your main wallet, they also have an exchange feature, don't let any wallet limited you for accessing your coin use a noncustodial wallet.

If they force us to verify, and we don't want to lose our privacy, then I think we can completely switch to a non-custodial wallet like Electrum and stop using blockchain wallets because using multiple wallets won't do any good.

Blockchain.com wallet is the first wallet I used when I first entered the market, and as a newbie, I didn't notice that they collect personal data but when I realized it I stopped using them and switched to Electrum and I am very happy with Electrum.

If we accept KYC, then use a centralized exchange, they will provide a full range of different services for us. For long-term asset storage, we should and should only choose non-custodial wallets.

KYC is to avoid impersonation and prevent others from breaking into your wallet, or is it just an excuse for them to control your privacy? If you don't care about privacy, it won't affect you, but if someone cares about their privacy, they won't agree to do that. Blockchain.com is also a good wallet, but since they changed their policy of requiring KYC users, they have lost some loyal users, possibly because the government required them to do so.

Instead of using a wallet or exchange that requires KYC, we also have many options to secure our privacy, like the Electrum wallet. And I believe using Electrum your assets will also be safer than blockchain.com.

I think it depends if you are actively using their wallet according to Blockchain they do have a crypto withdrawal limit for non-verified users it's around $2000 annually which means if you exceed this limit blockchain will ask for KYC verification.
From my understanding from the article you shared, only people from United States are allowed to withdraw 2,000 dollar worth of cryptocurrencies without going for verification.
People from other countries have to verify their identity for withdrawing any amount of cryptocurrencies.

Quote
We currently offer Limited Access (US residents only), Full Access and Platinum levels.

It may worth mentioning that the withdrawal limits apply to their exchange and it has nothing to do with their wallet.

It is possible that this website selectively requests a KYC from its users. Not sure if that's the case. Just guesswork.
For sending and receiving alone, they're not going to ask you anything but for "other stuff", you have to go through the KYC procedures and I believe that was/is "the problem" for OP.
- In addition to the trading limits that @BitMaxz provided, they also have "swap limits".

Hello.
I have an old account on the blockchain.com, which I have not used for a very long time. For all the time, I didn't have a need for the KYC procedure. Recently, I went to check my account (due to a warning from the service that support for my region is ending and I wanted to check the balance) and there were no problems with KYC. It is possible that this website selectively requests a KYC from its users.

Hey guys,

I'm using the blockchain.com app and now I have to verify my account. Do you have the same?

Normally I could receive and send coins now I have to verify my account.

I decided to buy an offline Stick so I can decide when I want to use them etc.

Currently I have limited Access and Blockchain want that I make KYC and have full access.

Let me know.

Cheers

It is possible that this website selectively requests a KYC from its users. Not sure if that's the case. Just guesswork. In general, I’m not interested anymore, because I don’t see the need to use blockchain.com and after their announcement I will stop using their services for good. Although, in fact, this happened quite a long time ago. To solve your problem, may recommend contacting their support or going through a KYC (looks like it can't be done without it), withdrawing all your money from the platform and also stop using this site

Simple solution, don't use Blockchain so you don't need to KYC for the so-called non-custodial wallet. I forgot when I left Blockchain wallet when they offer bonuses for KYC verification if I can remember correctly. I had started using a real non-custodial wallet Electrum. And now have been using Ledger hardware wallets. Blockchain has a lot of claims of stealing funds. So it's better to avoid and use Electrum if you can't afford to buy a hardware wallet.

@OP don't use blockchain.com wallet.

We're done using that and now they've become strict plus the bugs that they've got on their website. They also run an exchange now AFAIK. I've seen problem of old users of that wallet that they can no longer access their accounts even they've got the seeds/mnemonic phrases that was provided before.

It is because they've changed the way of retrieving accounts and because of the time that has passed, those recovery ways that has been provided before can no longer be used. So, we can say that the old wallets are no longer accessible because of that change.

The wallet has an option to back up seeds and I think that's what OP should do. Retrieve the backup seed and the import it to electrum, and he's good to go. If he wants to use the exchange part, then he will have no choice except verify.

What is with a cold wallet should I buy one (I saw one producer from Swiss) and deposit my coins on a cold wallet?

So I would be independent and they are safe right?
You don't have to buy hardware wallet like Bitbox or Trezor to have cold wallet, but it's easiest choice for most people, but that won't make totally safe and independent.
Free option is to use old laptop or computer, install fresh Linux OS, turn of internet connection, and use this as a cold storage.
Even regular hot wallets are safer than online wallets and exchanges, if you keep seed words offline in safe place.

And when I lose the Device I only need the Seed with 24 Words?

I will add here that if you ever lose the device it's recommended you move your funds away as soon as you can, preferably to another hardware wallet (new wallet there, not recovery), since with physical access hardware wallet can be compromised.
But yes, the seed usually suffice; I advise you also write down the fist address of the new wallet (or, better, the derivation path, if you're knowledgeable enough, but that may be too advanced).

In this case the Coins are offline and safe right?

You can say that the device is "online" when plugged in, but the important part is that the keys of your wallet isn't going to be exposed. Though it's not recommended to do, you can even transact using a computer with malware if you're using a hardware wallet.

And when I lose the Device I only need the Seed with 24 Words?

Where are your funds sitting OP? are all of them in your private key wallet/s? asking because there's a 'limited access' tier in their exchange/custodial services where you only have to give basic information with no ID and/or selfie needed. If you've used the said services, some of your funds may still be sitting in their custodial wallets like the trading accounts.

Keep in mind that your backup phrase only covers private key wallets. In case you have some cryptos you can't get out in their custodial wallets/accounts, you'd have to contact the support team about it.

Hardware wallets and cold wallets do not have debit card withdrawals. You can only send and receive coins from those wallets.

What do you want to achieve? Do you want to withdraw your coins to the debit card or do you want to send and receive coins?

Withdrawing coins to a debit card always required KYC except in p2p exchange.

In this case the Coins are offline and safe right?

Blockchain.com hardware wallet is just a ledger nano with a different color.

In my opinion,  it is better to buy ledger nano directly from their website:
https://ledger.com/

Another good alternative is https://trezor.io

hardware wallet are very safe and easy to use.
you don't need to make any kyc to use the wallet, only if you want to make swaps and use exchange services using third party applications

I store them only there and sometimes I get new btc but not in high amount.

When I want do spend them I send it to my Debit card from other companies and withdraw or pay with it.

You will definitely have to submit KYC to use their debit cards, because blockchain.com is required by law to keep customer data on their card users.

A national ID should be good enough, should at least demonstrate which country you live.

Try talking to their customer support to ascertain what services you're limited from and decide if you need to verify or not.

From what I know their customer support is too slow and useless for most users.

I don't use blockchain.com, I've used it a (very) little in the past. But doesn't blockchain.com allow to get the wallet seed? Can't that blockchain.com wallet get recovered into Electrum?
That's what I would do: get Electrum from electrum.org, verify the download, recover the wallet into Electrum and benefit of my bitcoin without KYC. Ideally I'd create a completely new wallet too and move my funds there (so my wallet seed is no longer linked to blockchain.com). And, if the funds are big, please consider buying a hardware wallet and sending them there.

I don't use Blockchain.com to store funds or anything, but today I'm trying to get some information about some of the terms that users must comply with to access services on the site.

There are 6 points of agreement that you may need to know, and maybe you should read this. One of them I quote here: https://www.blockchain.com/legal/terms

Quote
2.4 In order to use some of the Services, you will need to satisfy an onboarding process, along with our Compliance Program. For example, we may have to verify your identity or source of funds, or ask you for additional information. We may request personally identifiable information such as network address, name, email, address, telephone number, date of birth, taxpayer identification or social security number, official government-issued photo identification, and bank account information or other information we may reasonably deem helpful in satisfying our risk management or legal obligations. In providing this information to us, you represent that it is accurate and you agree to update your User Account and/or Wallet Account information promptly, but in no event later than 14 days following any change in your information. If you fail to provide us with needed information, or keep your information updated, some Services may not be available to you (and you might not be able to access your funds).

Saw a popup window asking me to submit verification, but it seems to be for the exchange arm of blockchain.com(if you're planning on using it). I simply closed the window, and it seems like I can still use the wallet normally.
