I think people prefer a simple wallet, even though they know it's dangerous but try to keep access very secure. Apart from that, hardware wallets sell well and guarantee security like trezor, but we are missing out on paper wallets.

You don't get it

All crypto wallets have private key and recovery seed, we still need to keep these two very safe by ourselves that's where things go wrong some times, even if you are using paper wallet you aren't 100% safe yet unless you keep the recovery seed safe.

It's true what @hosseinimr93 said, prepare for its security even though it can't be very safe, at least prepare a backup if this paper wallet happens that you don't want. Along with the development of the crypto industry, many producers are produced for storage in the form of hardwhare wallets (paper), cards and others)
what paper wallet are you using? maybe for bitcoin only?

Paper wallet is more secured because they don't work online it's 100% offline, if we have to go head to head it's more secure than even hardware wallet, to operate a hardware wallet you need to connect it to computer, you know what that means.

Is paper wallet still up and running for crypto coins today? Why aren't new altcoins using paper wallet? The last one I saw was electroneum in 2017 since then no other coin use paper wallet anymore, no matter how hard I think about it paper wallet feels safer what about you?

I still use paper wallet, I use myetherwallet to store my ethereums and other coins. Never had the problem on the second address cause I stored it out of the internet. The first one was hacked because of me clicking random stuffs on the and caused me a great deal, it was saved on my computer. Now my private key is written on some paper. I never had the chance to use any other apps to store coins. I guess it is us that makes our own destruction so just be careful on using it and never broadcast it on the web.

Paper wallets are not secured to use and if you are unable to store them safely, secretly, it will be either destroyed by water, fire, other physical damages or stolen by others.

For the Last Time, Stop Using Paper Wallets!

I don't see how altcoin paper wallets are more secured than Bitcoin paper wallets.

For Bitcoin you will have some good providers with metal tiles, laminates, etc.

If you know how to create a secure paper wallet, it's safer to store it there than in exchanges that have full control of your crypto assets. You just need to follow the guidelines on how to create one because creating it in a common way may result in some regret because you didn't fulfill the condition to create the wallet securely. There are lots of tutorials in the beginner section you can find right there and choose which one suits you. For me, if you cannot afford or cannot get a hard wallet, a paper wallet is the answer.

I rarely seen this again but maybe some are still using this kind of wallet. You can also take an alternative way just like copy and paste your priv key and then print it as paper wallet.

Why aren't new altcoins using paper wallet?
Maybe it's caused by it has no demand and people prefer to use keystore to keep their wallet instead of paper wallet. Remember that keystore has an encryption code as well.

The last one I saw was electroneum in 2017 since then no other coin use paper wallet anymore, no matter how hard I think about it paper wallet feels safer what about you?
Yeah but some time there was another way which was more safer like downloading keystore that fully encrypted and you will able to open it when you know that password to by pass it. This is also safe to give more protection to your data and some wallets are putting more layers on its security too.

Paper wallets do not have to be created the traditional way, with a non custodian wallet software and an airgapped device, you can create a paper wallet which would be completely offline and back it up in a secure location or preferably multiple locations, with the private keys and/or seed phrase written on paper or any other durable material.
Total security for me with a Paper wallet looks like this: Old personal computer (with an old CD of Windows/Linux) with old printer and old keyboard/mouse, no antivirus, no internet connection.

For the maximum security, I would use as old gadgets and operational system as possible. I don't think that 2020's Printer will be secure even without internet connection. Maybe this sounds like a comment from Paranoid person but no!

I'm not really sure if paper wallet is been use now because storage technology has improved since crypto currency become popular. In some circumstances it remains the best way to store you keys.
Self custody is still the best way to store your coins and a written seed phrase is one of the most common ways, so majority of people still use a paper wallet, although the MAJOR difference is that they generate the private keys online and transfer bitcoins out of it, exposing the public keys.

................no matter how hard I think about it paper wallet feels safer what about you?
If you generate and use a paper wallet in the correct way, it's secure.

- The private key (or the seed phrase*) should be generated on an air-gapped device.
- You should make sure that the keys has been generated completely random.
- You shouldn't use a tool you don't know exactly how it works.
- The private key (or the seed phrase) should never touch the internet.
- You should keep the paper wallet in a secure place.
- It's recommended to have multiple copies from the paper wallet and keep them in different places.
- For more security, you can use metal sheets instead of a paper, so it's resistant to water and fire.

*By old definition, a paper wallet includes a single private key and single address. But you can generate a seed phrase instead of a single private key and have numerous addresses. With multiple addresses, you can protect your privacy.
