Also it is nice that they actually paid you good amount to report that bug which may have cost them huge amount of loss, just like another bitfinex disaster.
It's good to see a guy like you who don't think about stealing from someone/platform..
I don't think it is wise to discuss it in public, All I can tell is that it was regarding withdrawal and I was able to withdraw excess amount than my actual bitcoin balance.
It's good that you did not exploit it for personal gain but I feel like you should've been rewarded more.
If it's as serious as it sounds, it seems like they could have lost a lot more than 0.01 BTC... like last withdrawal bug at poloniex cost them 97BTC.
To be honest, I am happy with the signature campaign earnings (they are best at it) and the bug is fixed now and that was important. According to me, any negative news like hacking or stealing bitcoin related portals affect the goodwill of bitcoin so we should understand our responsibility as a bitcoin user and that's what I did.
I'm glad you are happy with your reward, I know what I would have done if I found it the same bug...
The world needs more honest people like you!
I did what I was supposed to do in such conditions, for me any kind of undue advantage brings guilt with it.
The world needs more honest people like you!
Lol. It would have been noticed sooner or later especially if it was abused.
Plus the fact that OP's account there is surely linked to his bitcointalk.org account, so that's risking being banned there, kicked from his campaign, and getting neg trust for his account.
Who knows if he'd have been able to get .1 before being flagged.
So, overall, it was a good decision. Haha.
I believe that reputation is the biggest asset that we can have, and yes, I was able to make money with both good (1% probability) and bad (99% possibility) practice, I choosed good one and won reward.
I wanted to share this news with fello bitcoiners and now locking this thread
