It didnt necessarily have to be false. He could have won 13 BTC using martingale, It doesnt happen to often but it probably happens and probably even more, we have seen true stories about people winning even hundreds of bitcoins so why not.

My advice to you is don't gamble with that btc again. Keep it, go on a holiday, whatever. Do not gamble with it.
