I'm guessing the wallet may not be around anymore, see http://blockchain.info/address/1WjPs68Akopyi9qJkfvRJnSbDL7Xi7vyq

Before you accidentally sent coins, the most recent transaction was September 7 2011.

the very same thing happend to someone who bought btc from me. He gave me a transaction adress instead of a receiving adress.
Confusing, but he managed to find where it went and to get it all back.

Good luck in your research.

P.S. i do not know this address :p

I started this thread in October of last year and had pretty much given up. However, now with the price increase, I figured it would be prudent to begin the search again. I did what I should've done in the first place and searched my email for the address. It was an address used for a purchase I made. The owner had a store, but the store is no longer active and neither is his forum account. I hope my message gets to his email. If I don't get a reply in a week, I'll post his handle to see if anyone is able to contact him.

On this transaction to the address(1WjPs68Akopyi9qJkfvRJnSbDL7Xi7vyq) there was one of the addresses(18h4Y2zw5GPq6DXCdHtm8nEFNxPVJse4gA) which is the donation address from this hidden service: http://utup22qsb6ebeejs.onion.to The address is not present at the site now, but you can see it on a google search.

I withdrew my money from BitMit (luckily it was only 1.2743 BTC) but I made that mistake I've been seeing people make. I was in a hurry and pulled an address from my address book rather than clicking receive coins. I have no idea what the address is. I made no contact with anybody during that time, whether through email or otherwise. It could possibly be a wallet that was on my phone, but I have no idea.

And that's why you should use labels on addresses lol

It seems to have movement. check if you recognize any of those transactions.

I know I should've labeled it, that's exactly what I said after I did it. The last transaction was a withdraw over a year ago, which makes me fairly confident that it was a phone wallet. But it was that app that I always had trouble with. Luckily, I saved the wallet file, so I'll try to see if I'm able to get it. But in any case, learn this lesson from me and don't do it yourself.

Address first used (2011-08-08). Maybe an account at some site? GLBSE? An exchange?
