You both are right. I think as an old trusted forum member i can help that way preventing scams. Bitcoin area is way too dangerous so i think i can help with that a bit. And all the scams make bitcoin look bad. One time i held over 4K of user coins for a group buy i made. Im not living on the bahamas yet so i guess that lead to some trust in the community.
And you would be surprised... offering for free leads more often to a donation than you would think.
Maybe people like if one isnt demanding something. They are pleased and like to give.By the way... many escrows do this for free or on a donation base... im not the only one.
