Hi guys. I joined cryptocurreny trading recently a couple of months back invested in BTC. Since then I have been trading altcoins between prices across exchanges but the problem is the market is very volatile and it has eaten much of my profits. If I buy a dip I realized there is something dipper. A friend of mine adviced I should buy some altcoins i trust their use case and keep for long term.

My major problem is identifying such altcoins with potential. Can you guys help with what to look for to determine an altcoin with potential or you can Name some .. I ll be very glad.

One coin that I am super stoked about is DarkPayCoin. It is a privacy MN/PoS coin with a really good community of developers behind it. IMHO it has the potential to become a Top 100 Coin on Coinmarketcap. You can check out the website here https://darkpaycoin.io/ or the Announcement thread here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/d4rk-darkpaymarket-pos-dao-cold-staking-dapps-4971135

I only recommend choosing a coin that has a platform or product and has also been used by many people. Old coins are the right choice, you can also consider tokens that have exchanges or also smart contract provider coins.

When choosing a currency to invest for long term the first thing I look into is people and companies behind it. Their prior experience and performances.
I don't just invest in a random project but when I do I keep holding them until I get the desired profit. I invested 5K on a coin which is grossing at about 1.2K at the moment but I believe in it's future and will be holding it.

I think the best way to make money from the cryptocurrencies market is to buy at the right time and sell at the right time because that is the easy way to make money in this market.  Altcoins trading is very profitable especially in you know how it works.  Investment is also very risky and you should not go into it without adequate knowledge on how cryptocurrencies market work.

You can try buying altcoins that have been in the market for a long time but haven't moved recently or dumped(like litecoin or ethereum) if you are planning to hold them long term. IMO, those major altcoins are the safest to hold in a bearish market.  Nevertheless, always do your own research before buying them if you don't want to end up bagholding alts.

No, don't follow him. Remember the use case can't give you a lot of guarantee for your amount. Just try to sell when it was pumping and then try to be a patience person and try to enter the market when the market will be dipping in the future. Crypto is a bubble and it will be filled by so many speculators. I have been doing it to recover my lost.

If you are a newbie in cryptocurrency market, you will not spend too much to invest altcoins. The more you profit, the more you take risk. And always put in your mine: All advices are references. Just trust yourself. I hope you will be safe and sound in this market.

The first coin you should own is ETH. It has a stronger use case than any other coin and has more developers working on projects being built on the Ethereum blockchain than all the other coins and blockchains put together, including Bitcoin. As you learn more about cryptocurrency markets and develope the ability to seperate the winners from the losers then you can start looking at ICO's to invest some of your Ethereum in.

In my opinion, you should use the knowledge, experience and ability to research, analyze the project, analyze the market to decide whether to invest in some Altcoin. It is you who is responsible for your decision. However, consultation with the people around is very good, but it is only a reference. Good luck!

your biggest problem is that you don't yet know what you are doing. you have not made up your mind. you have a goal which is profit but you have not yet decided how you want to reach that profit.
for example you talk about "investment" then you talk about "trading" and then you talk about buying the "dip". just make up your mind and decide what you want to do.
if you want to invest then it is entirely different from when you want to trade.

as a trader who wants profit you must be active in the market. there is no "altcoin with potential" for a trader and there is no "invest and hold" for a trader. as a trader you want to go in and out of the market and take the profit with you. for example when there is a dip you buy it then you sell it shortly after before the  dip continues. for example yesterday you should have bought ETH at $190-$180 and dumped it as soon as it went back up to $200+ which means you could have made 11% profit in half a day. now calculate how much 11% means based on your investment ($1000 meant $110).
then you move to another coin and do the same and every day repeat the process.

There is so many similar question on this board. Perhaps you will get lot of answer from them. Please use search button before make new post next time. However dicision should take by you. Investment depends on your affords of loss. For me I think this is perfect time to enter on crypto market. You can buy from top 20 CMC. You can choose some of them and there is low chance to loss. If you ask personally than everyone will suggest his favourite coin name. So you will be more confuse. It's better to research yourself.

Altcoin with potential is not hard to find but the problem is those coins were also losing its value too much for example ethereum is one of the best altcoin but the prices were kept falling about less than $200 for a while but now it is just about $200 so better choice for you is just stay with the bitcoin because the price of bitcoin just stayed at the level above $6000 for a while now.

Invest in BTC until you feel secure enough to believe in another project. There is still time to choose. The projects are very different, with different people, codes, funding. Never invest in a project that is not in the top 30 more than 20% of what you invest in the most solid projects. At least until you have a full idea of what you're doing.

I would say today ETH, ADA and Monero are the best choices. Since in the next 3 years there is no possibility of Bitcoin launching functions that compete with these projects.

Others like Litecoin, BCH, ZCash; Bitcoin can launch functions that make these projects unnecessary

First thing you should do is to do your own research about different alts, then it's up to you to discern which ones are good. If you're not patient enough to do a research, you'll definitely lose more of what you have now.Always remember that Knowledge is Power! And lucky for you, now is actually a great time to buy alts while the prices are down.

I highly prefer that you should invest one ethereum because the price in the market today is very cheap and it already reached $1k dollar last january so i believe that you should take advantage of the current market price of ethereum today.
