The easiest way is just get some cash and trade it for BTC.
all the points you mentioned are valid , but i won't suggest a newbie to get some cash and trade it for btc , because level of panicking with every rise and fall sometimes they will blame you everytime it goes down or up :p -you can earn a bit mining altcoins, even with 1 GPU.
