The problem is with Newegg, I've always had problems with them and their restocking fees and such. Amazon is the cheapest and the best way to go IMHO. They pay for the shipping back and they don't charge a restocking fee.

I actually prefer newegg cause most of the hardware are cheaper. You can always RMA instead of ask for refund?

Depends on how you talk to them and who you get.  I've had good experience with both retailers.  As for cheaper, you can talk to Amazon to price match Newegg I believe.  Haven't done it in a while so not sure if they changed policies.

I glanced at Amazons refund policy and don't remember if they charge a restocking fee for returned electronics but I believe it had to be never used even after taken out of the box.  Newegg does charge a restocking fee if you do returns.  I was lucky the rep was nice as I was polite to her.  She waived the restocking.  Win!  So also ask if you can get a discount or something waved if you've been a long running customer.

huh, you became sick?

fyi, amazon has great customer service.. you could have returned it for a new one with no problem.

I returned it and they gave me partial refund. like 70% of the price I paid

What I will do is call them up and ask for a replacement instead of refund, don't wait too long cause the long you wait the lower the chances....

the disappointment made me insane. I took it personally like amazon purposely sent me a bad card because they didn't want me making coin

It's been a while and I'm still hesitant to buy a card. Will not buy from amazon. Probably newegg

No , they taught about your electricity bill and said , common  let's give him a faulty card cause with a good one he will end up loosing more money.

You have mention that it is faulty and you want to RMA, otherwise they will just charge you restocking fee and thats what you get...

I wonder if you can challenge the restock fee?

Onerous conditions in a contract are invalid.

In Australia, Amazon would have a hard time.

Amazon gives the option to either replace the product, or return the product with a restocking fee.

Sounds like the OP chose the latter.

is this a new policy? i've returned things before... no restocking fee.
