It sounds like they will use the pre-sale $$ to create them, then mine with the asics, then when it becomes almost unprofitable they will "release" them to those that paid for the development. Sounds like the perfect scam. Though I am biased and hate the idea of asics for scrypt, I have a 6970 that has mined for 2.5 years, it still makes me $$ could the same be said for a asic?

no, asics are slower. wayyy slower

I was highly skeptical, so we ordered none. July is a stretch I think.. maybe November. There is no prototype in place yet and crunching some numbers initially makes the cost look quite high for development of these boards.

At the end of the day any pre-sale in mining equipment is risk. Alpha seems to be using the pre sale money to move into production. So there is no trial yet in large scale production which usually hits snags and extra costs. Im never comfortable paying a pre sale without seeing working prototype and an understanding of where the foundry they are working with is located.

i was one of those people who ordered the scrypt miner from aplha technology. i was wondering how many others have ordered the same. sad to see so many people got scammed or waited so long for their product. hopefully all those companies have been shaken out.

i ordered the 25 mhs viper. not sure when it will arrive but i might be as long as july 2014. lets see what happens when difficulty goes through the roof.

I think what you meant to say is that you PRE-ordered those.

Well, pray they aint the scrypt version of BFL...

I thought that they were due to be released around April time? Or maybe that was the first batch. I'm guessing you got an order for the new batch, Gremlins 2 style.
