The common names are:
10-2: cent
10-3: milli
10-6: micro
10-9: nano

The smallest bitcoin is 10-8

So we do 10-6 * 10-2
= micro * cent
= mic

I currently have 0.00875801 bitcoins, so 875,801 mics!

I am almost a mic millionaire!

and 1 mic million = 1 cent (0.01000000)

I have to agree with the other users, this is a bit too confusing.

I second this idea! I will start using mic units around the forum to try to get it to catch on Cheesy. Good idea.

One millibitcoin (a "Millie") is 0.001 BTC.
One microbitcoin (a "Mike") is 0.000001 BTC.
The base unit (0.00000001 BTC) is a "Satoshi".

These names are unofficial but have some actual usage. I feel it would be confusing to call a "Mic" a micro-bitcent rather than a micro-bitcoin.

microsatoshis will be able to be implemented when Bitcoins hit 200K~USD . If BTC turns bitcoin millionares then it's a nobrainer!~lol  Cool easy!

yeah you should'nt use cent as that is abreviation for 100, as in 100 cent in dollar no ?  either way it has too much connotation with current currency

my suggestion microbit or microcoin ?

The name "satoshi" is already in common use as the name of the smallest bitcoin unit.

As in, "I paid 140 satoshis for my house." Smiley

Some people already use 'mike' to mean 1 µBTC.
