I have experienced something like this, at that time I sent bitcoins to Litecoin address, of course it was a mistake I couldn't avoid, besides, I was also sleepy, so I copied the wrong address. These two have different blockchains so its not going to be confirmed and you will get your ADA back when the exchange support helps you. Just wait for the support to cancel the process.
wait, so the exchange doesn't verify the destination address before sending? I'd fault the exchange for this honestly. Probably it will just fail to complete
Thats what I'm wondering as well that the exchange didn't indicate a warning that the TRX address the recipient of the ADA tokens didn't comply with the transaction to proceed. Which exchange is this?

Any update from the exchange? I believe it is not lost as long as the exchange is willing to help you recover your ADA. It is clearly stated and believed by the reply on this thread that the transaction is more likely to fail so you just need a bit of patience and perseverance in contacting the exchange to process your issue.

I am surprised that your exchange protocol didn't detect that it was a wrong address. If the transaction finally go through which I expect to fail and most likely reverse. Always double check information and when you are under pressure, stop and continue later. A student knowingly out of lack of research sent XLM from trustwallet to Bep20 on binance and that was lost he didn't escalate to support decision best known to him.

They are no longer on my exchange balance.
That means exchange site has been broadcasting your amount to the network. it will never be confirmed as your ADA will never be identified as a transaction by TRX network, because ADA is not supported by tron network. i think this is the answer to why your tx is not yet confirmed.

Which exchange have you used to send this tx? As far as I know, addresses not matching the prefix would recognised as wrong address type and you wouldn’t be able to send a transaction.
However, have you got any response? To get faster answer, check out if they have any telegram group. Make sure you are not sharing any credential info as telegram id full of scammer.

If the transaction hasn't been sent out, yet then customer support can help you cancel the transaction and refund your account.
Can a tx be released to a wrong address type? Which client allow that?

That's not a joke, it's a feature that has serving its purpose. In the usual transactions, scammers can reverse transactions. There really is pros and cons on this that's why before making a transaction, should you check the addresses you're about to send first before doing any transfer.@OP, maybe the exchange where you have sent and received it can do something with that so contact them unless they have already a warning and disclaimer that they cannot retrieve funds from wrongly sent transactions.

Because if you will look at the address of ADA and the address of TRX, they are both different. So perhaps technically, there will be an error upon sending or transferring your coins. How did you manage this situation?
However, if it was successfully transferred, there is nothing you can do is accept your loss. The transaction is not reversible that you can recover, it will be lost forever and perhaps you will learn this mistake and don't let it will happen again. My sympathy is, sorry for your loss.

ADA is not compliant with the TRON address and sending your ADA to your tron address will be result your ADA will be burned or lose forever. that means you will never able to get it back again.
You should be careful before try to send anything.
You must make sure to double check the address or something else because you are using blockchain.

you must know if blockcain transactions are irreversible, wich mean not able to be undone or altered.

But my transaction has not been completed, it is "pending" on the exchange and the transaction will not be completed. Did I still lose the coins? The trx tron address to which I sent the ada cardano is from my binance account. Do you think that even with the transaction pending on the exchange and not being completed, I still lost the coins?

Are you sure? As far as I know it is a DONE transaction that cannot be reversed, my transaction is pending and will not be completed because it was sent ada cardano to a trx tron address, my question is if I still lost the coins with the pending transaction?
That's 2 different blockchain this transaction suppose to be not process. I don't know, I haven't tried it before but since transaction are irreversable, then there's no way the transaction will be recovered. You need to make more research regarding this, I guess its too technical, I heard a similar tranaction before but different coin, that's bitcoin being send to BCH address in an exchange and they were able to recover the amount by contacting the support of an exchange.
Or maybe you can get an idea from this, but this is a bitcoin transaction so just try if its okay with you.

I don't even know how I did it hahaha, I think it was in a hurry. The transaction is "pending" on the exchange and I cannot cancel it, and the transaction will not be completed because it was sent to an address of another type of cryptocurrency, so I did not lose the coins? They are no longer on my exchange balance.
Are you in full control of the private keys or seeds of the Tron address?
If yes, then there is a chance that you might be able to recover your add-in case the transaction is processed to that wrong address by the exchange
If No, then forget about the ADA. Most exchanges and custodial services don't bother recovering people's wrongly sent funds.
