Waiting to hear back from cashapp. Binance said they couldn't help

Of course they can't.
They sent the transaction to the address you gave them.

The only way you get your USDT back is that cashapp is voluntarily retrieving them for you.
Please note that you have no right to get your USDT back. If they are willing to help you, that's goodwill. Otherwise you are out of luck.

@OcTradism, the post you quoted is mainly talking about cross-chain transactions which is not the case here. OP sent USDT Omni to a bitcoin address. Omni Layer uses the bitcoin blockchain. Basically, all it takes to recover the coins is to import the private key into an Omni wallet.

@OP, contact CashApp customer support as they are the only one able to help you. Binance can't do anything about it as I suppose the transaction got many confirmations by now.

.....and the last chance the OP have is for him to provide us the transaction ID so we can know if the transaction is yet to be confirmed.
There are two ways to cancel an unconfirmed transaction.
1. Replacing the unconfirmed transaction with a new one in the case RBF has been enabled. (RBF must be enabled when making the original transaction.)
2. Double spending with a higher fee. (It's very unlikely to succeed.)

Since the transaction has been made from binance, the OP has no control over the transaction. So, even if the transaction is still unconfirmed, cannot do anything.
Yes the OP have no control over the transaction but there are some crypto exchange site that offer deposit/transaction recovery which user OcTradism have quoted above. However, there's still some chance that the OP can still get his USDT and what he need to do is provide the tx ID if the transaction is confirmed what he have to do is contact the Cash app customer support for help if the offer deposit recovery services.

I see there is always a note in the wallets or exchanges that sending any other currency to this address will make it non-refundable.
In any case, the USDT is sent to the Ethereum address in a wallet that supports ERC20. If the other party owns the private key for this wallet, I think it may help you to recover your wrongly converted currencies.
Even if a token recovery is possible, it is a difficult process and is done manually and costs some money, so if the amount is large, you should try. If the amount is small, it is better to forget that.

I sent the usdt from binance to cash app btc address

If I remember correctly, Binance switched from Omni-based addresses to ERC-20-based addresses for USDT last year and no longer support withdrawal of  OMNI-based USDT. So you should have entered an Ethereum Address. Did you contact Binance support? Maybe they can help. If not, there is no way to recover it.
Help? Theres no way any crypto exchange site in the world would help their customer in such situations cause the sent the USDT to a custodian wallet and the last chance the OP have is for him to provide us the transaction ID so we can know if the transaction is yet to be confirmed.

Seems that you don't know how tether transactions work.
Tether doesn't have its own blockchain and is sent through three other blockhchains.
1. BTC (Omni layer)
2. Ethereum.
3. Tron

Take a look at following thread. It may help you. It's a similar case posted a few day ago.
Sending USDT to BTC address.
The link was so helpful and helped me understood more about tether and the three blockchain you can use to send it.
Even, if the person send through ERC-20 and Tron blockchain, so far the wallet the tether is sent to is noncustodian in which private key for bitcoin, ether and tron can be accessed, the person will definitely receive the tether sent using the respective (bitcoin, ether or tron) addresses. Hope i am right? That means ETFbitcoin is right, but if sent to a wrong address in which the sender do not know who he send the tether to, the transactions can not be reversed.
ETFbitcoin, was right and there are also some transaction which doesnt belong to the same blockchain that can still be recover. An example is BCH which is mistakely sent to BTC address it can recover through the help of an honest miner which will need only.
The BCH transaction hash on BTC address; the public key for the BTC address and the address to receive Bitcoin Cash.

Unfortunately, Cash app is a custodian wallet, which means you do not have control over your wallet private-keys or seed.

You will have to contact their support and explain the situation. Give them the transaction ID, amount, addresses, everything.

Maybe if you are luck and/or the amount you sent is relatively big, they will manually recover them for you (maybe for a fee). Some exchanges/services do that, others don't even bother to trying help you. But that's the only possible solution.

You can actually still select whichever network to deposit and withdraw USDT from when it comes to binance. Omni, ERC20 and Tron are all available.

But the case now is different, he sent tether to btc address, just like when a friend of mine sent litecoin to btc address, the fund was completely lost and the transactions got complete confirmations. In this case, the owner of btc address that he sent tether to will neither receive any confirmation nor any payment.

The OP has likely used Omni layer on bitcoin blockchain and sent tether to a BTC address.
Any one who has access to private key of the BTC address can recover USDT tokens.
Sending USDT tokens to a BTC address is something like sending ERC20 tokens to a Ethereum address not sending Litecoin to a BTC address.

Recovering your USDT is possible if :
1. You know who is the owner of that BTC address (will referred as "the owner")
2. The owner have knowledge how to access USDT from his/her BTC address
3. The owner is willing to take possible risks when accessing USDT (such as copy/paste private key to different wallet)
4. The owner is willing to help you

If the owner is exchange and you only send small amount USDT, it's very likely they won't help you.
It is not possible.

It is possible if he send to wrong address of the same cryptocurrency and if he knows the receiver and the receiver is willing to help but if the receiver is not known or not willing to help, then it is not possible. For example, sending btc to a btc address, or sending tether to a tether address. And I iterate again, this will not be recovered if he does not know the owner of the address as you have said.

But the case now is different, he sent tether to btc address, just like when a friend of mine sent litecoin to btc address, the fund was completely lost and the transactions got complete confirmations. In this case, the owner of btc address that he sent tether to will neither receive any confirmation nor any payment.

Tether does not offer a token recovery service for deposit mistakes (e.g., deposits of tokens not supported by Tether or tokens sent to a wrong address).

Sending from btc to tether or any other currency addresses will make the transaction irreversible. If the transaction has no confirmation already it is still likely possible to reverse it but ones it has been confirmed by a miner (1 confirmation) it means the transaction has been propagated already into blockchain network, and the transactions will be lost because no address will match the address you sent to in the blockchain.
