If the money left your wallet and you say it went "elsewhere", then you may have sent it to the wrong address.
This, or it will be back or its in right address u wanted to send to begin with.
Only this three options.

You'll need more than that to get any clear answer.  So you're sending bitcoins from A1 to A2 and now it was sent to A3.
Is A2 the real destination?  If so then you might have been hacked.  But if A2 is an exchange address or similar then the service might have moved the bitcoins somewhere else.  You'll have to contact the service support if you don't get the bitcoins.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge but i sent some btc to an address but i think i forgot to add a fee/it was very small.  Anyway i waited a very long time (12 hours+) for the BTC to arrive at that address, and upon checking just now it seems that the BTC have left that address to go elsewhere but i did not do this recent transaction myself. Is it being reversed or is it still processing to the address i originally sent it to?

Most of web wallet automatically deduct fees for transaction. But Desktop wallet need to set fee.

Anyway. When you make transaction from any address to any address, you can track everything with TXn id.

or even can see details from wallet address how tree of BTC amount circulation distributed.
