Same coin (missed the monero part, my bad), different architectures (maxwell vs. pascal, yes?), and the same problem?

Yes.

If you insist on mining cryptonight use xmr-stak-nvidia not ccminer also i highly suggest you to mining bulwark btx or numus right now amd is way better at cryptonote and nvidia in 10 more algos you're trying to mine monero ores with a space ship made for mining more valuable asteroid ores.

My apologies, I'm running:

ccminer 2.2 mining monero using cryptonight algorithm,
Current (NVidia) driver i'm using is 23.21.13.8813

Mine Equihash (Zec/Zen) its more profitable and optimized for Nvidia.  AMD hashing monero much more efficiently.

Also, what are you mining? Not sure how likely this is to be coin specific, just trying to ask decent questions.

Thoughts? (also same issue on another PC running a quadro M4000)

So both machines have an identical issue? Same software and all, save for the card?

Hey guys,

I'm new to all of this and I've just noticed that my miners hash rate is a mere 760H/s. At first I assumed this was good, but now I've realised it should be KH/s or even MH/s! What am I doing wrong? It's a single 1080 ti strix running ccminer. Not once has it used even CLOSE to 100% GPU usage. It hasn't even got over 25% afaik.

what algo what coin what's your drivers ? also use latest version of ccminer you really need to provide more detail each algo has different hash rate measures based on its difficulty and solving algorithm it can be hash/khash/mhash and Ghash or sol(solutions) per gpu.
