Looks like you'll have some finishing to do, but it could be worse for $50. And hey, this gives you the opportunity to make something less janky than that example photo.

Gone phishing...
Any stable insulated material should be sufficient for the motherboard to rest on.
Ideally, an old motherboard tray with standoffs still in place would be great for screwing down the motherboard. (Although securing it to the rest of the frame would be another matter.)

A piece of wood should do the job, however.

Just my BTC0.02, I would never purchase a pre-built mining frame. The cost of the frames is almost always disproportionate to the material cost and the time it takes to assemble them. (Plus the IKEA effect from assembling your entire rig on your own. Tongue)

I could be wrong, but it looks like the mobo is actually sitting on the box it came in? It looks like they use zip ties to keep the wood in place, sat the mobo on it's original box, and used more zip ties through the mounting holes to create tension. I've seen worse, but I would probably just drill and mount stand-offs to the wooden base. Might be a good idea to glue the wood in place also. Too much zip tie action all around for my liking.

Hmmm it does sorta seem like there's wood underneath, but the case didn't include any, it was only the metal frame.

Here's the actual listing on eBay (just updated my original post):

Looking at it closer I think there is a piece of wood covering the bottom of the frame in the pictures. Look at the bottom right side where the inside frame should be looks covered by the wood in the top picture.

Yes, looks like string tied off on the two sides and possibly a box that the kit came zip tied on the other two sides in with the motherboard on top.

I think wood would work well.

I bought this case off eBay:

Some larger pics:

But I can't figure out how the mobo is mounted. It almost looks like there's a black string or cable holding it up? Any thoughts? I was considering screwing some wood pieces to the frame and then mounting the mobo on top of them.

Would appreciate any insight Smiley
