See we told you that all will go fine and you get your coins !
Glad you got it after a few hours and yeb if you want to get your transaction faster solved you have to put more on the fees.
Just for information the most exchanges or platforms use an standart fee thats a bit higher so the transactions get faster done .

looks like I've got one confirmation now.
Learn more about the transaction fee,if you did used less fee from the recommended fee then you may have to wait for few hours for the transaction to enter into a block, for faster transaction use priority fee structure on blockchain wallet.

If you were running your own wallet such as Electrum, you would be able to use a feature called "Replace by fee" to bump the fee up. However, this is not possible with blockchain.com (as far as I am aware).

I have been watching the stats on https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#1,8h and it definitely looks like those over are paying more keep getting confirmed before me - doesn't look like I'll ever get to the front of the queue Sad
You absolutely will. Miners obviously pick the transactions with the highest fee first to maximize their own profits. You have paid 2.5 sats/byte. When you made the transaction, peak fees were 20 sats/byte. Now, a few hours later, they are 10 sats/byte. The mempool usually empties over the next few hours, around about midnight UTC. Just be patient. Go do something else for 3 or 4 hours to take your mind off it.

are you sure it's safe to share my transaction ID? (if I can find it!).

I think it's safe because there is no ways for other people to hack your bitcoin unless you don't share your private key

My fee is 0.00002532 BTC so obviously not enough for a fast confirmation. It was what Blockchain put as the fee and I accepted it. They also offered a higher one - a priority one and I chose that for my 2nd transfer.

Thats nearly the same i has got last week for my transaction and i can say dont worry it will come true !
Just wait and it will happen at some stage , i was looking the first 2 hours also if i have got that and after that i dont looked around every minute and 4 - 5 hours or maybe 6 it was confirmed .

From a security perspective - yes, it's perfectly safe. There is nothing someone can do just by seeing your TXID and addresses. This information is publicly available for every transaction ever made.

From a privacy perspective - maybe not. If you are concerned about people linking wallet addresses or bitcoin amounts to your forum identity/username/activities, then don't share.

Open your blockchain.com wallet, click on "Bitcoin" from the sidebar on the left, then click on "Sent" from the menu at the top, and you will see your sent transactions. From there you should be able to find your transaction ID - it's a 64 character long string of numbers and letters from 0-9 and a-f.

If you don't want to share it, then search for it yourself on https://blockchair.com/ and check the amounts and addresses are correct. If you click on the "Click to see more" option on the right hand side of that page, you'll see a field that is called "Fee per kVB". The fee required at the moment for a fast confirmation is 0.00020000 BTC or higher. Anything lower than that and you will just have to be patient. The lower you are, the more patient you will need to be.

Why don't you share the unconfirmed transaction ID here first so we can take a look at it.

The mempool is currently pretty backed up, as you can see from this site: https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#1,8h. You currently need fees of around 20 sats/byte to be within 1 MB from the tip and be confirmed in the next block. If you have selected a low fee of a few sats/byte, then it will like be several hours or more before the mempool empties enough to confirm your transaction.

If you have made the transaction and can see it on a block explorer, then contacting blockchain.com will be futile. There is nothing else they can do.

Free transaction accelerators are usually a waste of time. Just be patient. Provided you can see your transaction "unconfirmed" on a block explorer, and the addresses are correct, then your coins are quite safe.

I've just gone to the Blockchain support page & it says 'Blockchain has no control over if or when a transaction confirms. This is handled entirely by the bitcoin network of miners of which we are not a part of', so doesn't look like contacting them will help.

i think you can try the transaction accelerator https://pool.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/
you can use the transaction accelerator above if you got lucky enough you will include in a few next blocks that mined from viabtc pool

Yes, I'd be very wary about giving anybody my details. Do you think I need to do anything or just wait? Original transaction now has 12 confirmations but follow up one still has none.

<...>
This is when you need to take a step back, relax, and avoid rushing to find the wrong support. I believe you wallet is on Blockchain.com. If so, they have a support page (https://support.blockchain.com/hc/en-us) and a request formulary (https://support.blockchain.com/hc/en-us/requests/new). The have social channels as can be seen at the foot of their site, but no Telegram channel.

The best is probably to go through the above, and avoid the possibility of being lured into false conversations by impersonators on social media channels.

<...>
It probably won't hurt to query them now through their formulary, since they may take time getting back to you.

Thanks GSpgh, glad to know it's OK to spend unconfirmed coins and that the 2nd transaction will eventually be confirmed. Maybe it's for the best - the price is rising slightly while I am waiting Smiley

If it takes some time to confirm you can ask for help to people who can accelerate your transaction, I have a friend in telegram that I ask for acceleration for free, go to the service section to find one. the longest I've had was 24 hours.

The original transfer from my paper wallet to my Blockchain account now has 6 confirmations but may not have had any or maybe just one when I tried to move the coins on to other addresses. What normally happens if a person does this? I hope you're right about them not disappearing....I too read online that they will come back to the Blockchain account.

It's ok to spend unconfirmed coins. The second transaction will be confirmed after the first one (or both in the same block).

When I look into it in my Blockchain account, it says Output is unspent and has no children!

When you log in to your Blockchain wallet, do you see the correct balance on the dashboard? And if you go into the BTC wallet, do you see the correct transactions? Confirmed or unconfirmed? As long as nothing is missing or incorrect, you just need to wait for confirmations.

well it is now almost 2 hours since I tried to move some from the Blockchain account to a different address and there are still no confirmations.

You put the lowest fees i guess on the transaction and thats why the transaction got stock in mempool !
So more transaction fee you use so earlyer your confirmation on the transaction.
I got this last week too from blockchain and i guess it was comfirmed fully after 4 Hours or something like that !

Dont worry it will comes true !

but what I really want to know is if I tried to send them elsewhere before they were confirmed in the Blockchain wallet will they ever confirm or come back to me?

You cant spend them normaly before they not full aviable and confirmed on your wallet !
And if this possible (what i guess its not ) your coins going out to the adress your send them after they are confirmed on your blockchain wallet!

So you see your coins already on your Blockchain.com wallet ?
If yes you dont have to be worry they just need more confirmations to be aviable.
Guess the minimum of fees was taken and this takes longer to be confirmed and it also depends how fast miners find blocks to confirm your transaction.

Has the first original transfer been confirmed by now or not? Would you be able to share the TX IDs? Don't do this if this can affect your privacy though.

Your coins will not disappear, just stay calm and don't throw away any paper wallets. If transactions are not confirmed (e.g. fees too low) the funds will return to your wallet, but I'm not sure how long it takes for that to happen in the Blockchain wallet.

I imported my coins from my paper wallet into my blockchain wallet & immediately tried to transfer some of them to another person for sale and some to a new paper wallet. I did this possibly before there were any confirmations of the original transfer & now after 2 hours the BTC still haven't been confirmed in my new paper wallet. What will happen? Have I lost them or will they eventually come back to my Blockchain wallet? Is there anything I can do?
