What do you guys think, seems like it could work, but will it stay up?

Can be successfully but need to much work to be popular and to be used. First of all to much publicity and not only here at bitcointalk but everywhere you can. There are to many people that have secrets and need money. And there are to many people that for a secret are ready to pay every amount.

I'm not sure how reliable arbitration will be in a system where users are anonymous and arbitrators are chosen randomly. Aside from the obvious shortcomings of a system where users are shielded from any type of accountability, there is absolutely no guarantee that an arbitrator will possess the necessary expertise/knowledge/means to evaluate data presented to him in the event of a dispute.
BTW CCN wrote an article about this project back in November of last year so it's already been nearly 10 month, it doesn't look like the site will be ready anytime soon. 10 months and their Twitter account has only 61 followers. The counter on their site shows they've accumulated ~3.4 BTC in donations. I don't know enough about this project but could this be just a cheap scam to get as much BTC as possible without actually doing anything?

We do not need another Silkroad, the first one did too much damage already. The question is... "Why do we attract the bad actors in the world" into Bitcoin.

It's such a great technology and a small group of people are ruining it for the whole group. Every time I see "Silkroad" or "MtGox" being mentioned in a article, I want to vomit.

I wonder sometimes if these people are not out to hurt Bitcoin on purpose or if it's pure greed. I get a lot of people telling me, Oh yes I heard about Bitcoin... It's that thing they

use on the internet to buy drugs.  Huh Huh Huh

I'd be more worried with the association to ransomware (things like CryptoLocker) than to darknet markets. DNMs have proven to provide at least some legitimate use cases and participation is totally optional.

The marketplace owners will eventually learn how to run it without getting caught.. They probably need more than Tor though, as they will be found eventually..

Just another marketplace on tor for illegal stuff. It will last no longer than the normal life span of such black markets.

cheers

Probably because of it's name "slur". I wonder what kind of "secret information" people will offer around here. Maybe some paypal money generator hack 2016 leak? LOL

It is inherent to the decentralised nature of the BTCitcoin, it will attract shady people and will accomodate all kinds of illegal stuf. We cannot have the plus side without the downside of BTCitcoin. It is a bitter pill but we have to swallow it and find a way to overcome that bitter taste and not vomit but learn from it to downplay the negative sides of our beloved BTCitcoin. There are tons of bad things done with fiat, from small time crooks to the White(house)collar crimes leading in devastation of countries and continents.

If we cannot beat them, we should join in the way the fiat world opperates, turn up the possitive propaganda machine, turn away the looks towards other things that are totaly unrelated. Lie a little if you must, we cannot win the good side if we focus on the darkside of the BTCitcoin spectrum!
