i have been researching other coins like cryptobullions and dogecoin, just wondering wich one is going to be the most profitible for me....

http://www.coinwarz.com/ is a great site to determine what coins are the most profitable to mine. There are also mining pools that automatically mine the most profitable coin.

why loan.. just focus on potential coins and not the rip offs of bitcoin/litecoin! Just take a look at skeincoin.. it is cpu, gpu, fpga and asic friendly but for now it is only cpu and gpu friendly.. so no investement is needed to start mining this coin at a decent/hardcore level and make serious coins!

block reward = 32 skc
block target = 2 min

current hashrate = 4 gh/s
current diff = ~95

easy access to a wallet!
easy access to gpu miner (its a .exe file so plug and play)

Active forum @ https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-skc-skeincoin-0931-skein-sha2-322828

Not confinced yet? perhapes wanne read this blog skeincoin.wordpress.com where you can get ur personal paperwallet and get a few skeincoin s for free at the faucet and the giveaway.. perhapes that will change your mind.. or should i do the math up here?

WTB: 7500 SKC. How much?
If you're still interested, I'd happily sell you 7500 for 0.25BTC

so a 10k SKC is worth 0.33 BTC and bare in mind 1 regular gpu is capable of mining 1000 skc a day so this is about 30 dollars a day!!

So reconsider other coins and esp skeincoin Wink!

Should i mine solo or in a pool. i pulled out my spare computer and set it up in my shed its only got a p4 and 512mb ram. i set it up to run pts miner to mine protoshares and left it on over night but never gained anything of it. think it might need more memory what do you think.

would i be able to have 2 computers mining on the same pts address, i can get them cheap.

I will work towards getting that mining rig if its the last thing i do...

Thanks for the advice man

Definitely join a pool. I haven't checked the difficulty of PTS, but solo mining with a pentium 4 will probably take years (or eternity) to receive a block reward.

Yeah man. Just enjoy it. Good things come to those who exercise their passions. Utilize this community. There are tons of ignorant people and trolls lurking here, but also plenty who are intelligent and willing to help.

Forget about the loan!  It is bad way to go.   Instead look at what you can mine with your CPU.   I recommend mining photoshares (PTS).  If you have a good CPU you can probably get at least .1 PTS a day.  (~$1.50)   Then trade your way into BTC.   You'll learn a lot more and when you get your 4 BTC you'll be less inclined to waste them.

It is not a bad way to go. It just depends on your personal interests and what you want to do. If you want to mine protoshares with your CPU, then that's what you want to do, and I encourage it. But be aware, at .1 PTS (~$1.50) per day, it will take you somewhere around 533 days to obtain enough to trade for 1 BTC. This is going to be a HOBBY.

It would probably be better for you to get some feedback from the Mining board. I'm not a miner, so I don't have any expert advice for you. But CPU mining is never going to generate any noticeable income.

I want to give you a loan for that rig man, but lending money to strangers on the internet is a terrible idea. I'm sure a bank or some other lending service would be more inclined to help! Go big!!

Also, I found this quite interesting and I hope it can give you some ideas:

i dont want to continue cpu mining i want an asic miner, and i know what these machines are capable of. i have been doing some more research on the net and have found bitcoin lending sites so will have a look at them see which one i can get a loan off......
Maybe you should look at crypto currencies like Dogecoin or Fastcoin. I believe that their value isn't very stable or rapidly growing, but you will earn more mining them than Bitcoin.

Not a bad idea, but I like ebinum's enthusiasm and would encourage him to go big. Get that mining rig and do your thing. We need more good miners for bitcoin. It's becoming too much of an industry, and people like you are what makes bitcoin strong. Now get that loan!!!

Thanks Man, would you be able todo me that loan.........

Hi i want to start mining for bitcoin, i have all ready started mining but at a very slow speed as i'm still using my CPU. I want to get an antminer S1 200GH/s asic miner but have no way of being able to purchase one of these. I figured if other bitcoin miners could spare 0.025 each which is about $20 each. id need to raise about 4 BTC which is about $3500. Or maybe even if some one could loan me 4 BTC. I would pay them back after a couple of months. any help would be greatly appreciated thank you. If you want any more info please PM me.

It never hurts to ask but seriously...... you might have better odds putting a cup out on the corner in D.C.

I'm glad you are interested in mining, and I hope you continue to explore it. However, CPU mining is going to cost you more than it gives you, so unless you're doing it for a hobby or as a learning method, I wouldn't keep it up for too long.

Best of luck!

@ebinum: You shouldn't beg for stuff on the forums - it's likely to result in your posts being moderated.

You can put your BTC address in your signature when you are eligible to set one - this will provide a reference for others to tip you should they feel compelled to do so.

It's nice that you want to start mining, but this isn't the place to get tips. Think of something innovative, something to help promote Bitcoin as a technology/means of payment - that's the sort of thing that people tip, especially on reddit.

Welcome to Bitcointalk and all the best with your mining objectives.

Not to be disrespectful but you're basically asking for money with no collateral.  It's probably never going to happen especially since you probably won't even make 4btc back with a that miner.
