I am new to crypto and I saw some ICO's running,
I've just noticed some of them that got stoped / cancelled for changes in they're token structure, but the thing is:
One of them as example:
There we're 100 milion tokens at the start, some people bought in presale and others on public sale, let's say the price is around $0.30 and $0.45 per token.
Now they will have 200 million tokens as supply, and the price is fixed at $0.20 per token. As I am an early investor (Pre Sale), how does this affect my investment?
What they should do to protect me?
I see that they allow refund, but they're working on a workaround for that to give bonus to early investors, how this should work?
And the last question, how can we get an estimation of the token price when they hit exchanges?
Thanks and sorry for the amount fo questions, I'm just worried
It seems that they fixed token price not in a USD value but in BTC or ETH in your case so once the market fell down, the token price in USD value fell accordingly. Maybe they should have fixed the token price in USD and then adjusted BTC or ETH equivalent for main sale participants so as to provide fair prices.
Anyway it's not enough information you provided to judge them and it all depends on your method of contribution and view on the token price estimation. If you invested 1 BTC at pre-sale, got 5000 tokens for that 1 BTC while now main sale price is 3000 tokens per 1 BTC, you still got significant bonus if to measure price in crypto (not in USD of course).
If they will menage to re-estimate all the contributions in current USD prices and will make additional token accruals to early investors - that's probably will be a win win situation for you. Otherwise you can choose a refund and then re-buy tokens one more time at lower prices
