Just to present me and do not inquinate other threads.

I'm vetz and I was a miner. I mined a few btc in 2012 and I stopped after a month because btc was very low on value.
What a idiot!

No need to call yourself an idiot for that because it's in human nature that when we give something, we expect something in return and when we don't get it, we leave it. The same is the case with many other Bitcoiners who did just like you and lost their chances of being millionaires or even billionaires of today's date in many ways, some bought pizzas and some crashed/threw their hard drives while others sold off in panic.

Great that you decided to mine Bitcoins again, but (not discouraging you but telling you the truth) that I believe you are quite too late here. Not just did Bitcoins touch the sky alone, but the difficulty to mine has also been breaking records daily to keep up with the value and make it more and more hard for every miner to be able to solve the blocks. Only difference it makes here is, you will need some expensive hardware now to start mining Bitcoins and ROI takes much longer than before.

I'm sorry, i'm new.. Can anybody tells me who is a miner?
You use your GPU to mine coins, amount of it is depend on your GPU, more of it means more coins so this is a person that "make" coins.

Whoa, building a rig for mining costs a lot, I have tried to create one, but never realized the electricity bill it could cost so I dropped the project and started to join signature campaign instead.  I have read a lot of trying to mine bitcoins, their initial review was the issue of electricity bills,  having one cpu coupled with at least six high-powered graphics cards would create a 1000 watts per hour... that is a lot if the rig will continue on and on.... i have already read that the initial month of the return of investment will have atleast 6 months before you start earning at the least...

Just invest and do not do mining because aside from its cost too much money then it is mostly a fixed income and if you want to get my suggestion, i suggest to you to just invest in different altcoins in the market so you can earn up to 10% everyday without worrying for your maintenance in mining rigs and so on.
No there are some alternative to mine could be profitable if you can build your custom mining you can try to build a mining rig with gpu gtx 1050 ti are good and less electricity.. Or other build that you can afford to buy But better GPU better earnings daily..
If you go directly to bitcoin its still profitable but it can be more profitable if you are waiting for the price increase before you sell your bitcoin..
or mine altcoin would be profitable but don't sell also if the price was increase sell it to make a good profit..

I'm not sure why people think this will happen and that it'll be a good thing. Yes it'll happen but many years from now and by then it won't be worth it even more than it is now for one person.

Does anyone know which coin gives the most profit in case of mining it?

Do you guys switch to another coin if it's more profitable to mine the "new" coin?
Or does it take too long to switch?

Are you talking $304 a month with just one 7870? What other specs of a PC would be (cpu/ram/MB)?
I ask because it seems quite high profit for not too expensive setup, almost "dreams come true".

I wouldn't worry about it, it's not too late, not even close. This technology is still new and it's getting easier to mine crypto assets such as Zcash and Monero. And in a little while you'll be able to mine FileCoin and Golem on on GPUs and CPUs from all over the world for free. This is not even the beginning, things will become much wilder and more expansive.

Investing is a tool for building wealth, but it is not only for the wealthy. Anyone can get started on an investing program, and various vehicles make it easy to begin with small amounts and add to a portfolio periodically. In fact, what differentiates investing from gambling is that it takes time—it is not a get-rich-quick scheme.

I guess now is as good a time as any.
Good luck and happy mining.
Same here, now I feel bad for not be mining in the start of the year.

But we still have time to get our profit.  Wink

DOGE for the win. I have a R9 290 and calculating my profits around 440 dollars each 30 days.

Nevertheless, i will not sell any DOGE for the coming 3 months, because.. > look at bitcoin. I think/hope/pray that DOGE will go higher and higher and make me a crypto-DOGE-millionair.

Such currency. Many Doge. Way crypto. WOW

A person would have to be crazy to spend money on an ASIC.

It is much cheaper to mine the script based coins using a GPU.  ASIC will never be developed for Script based coins, and if they do, the script algorithm can be changed, to turn the script based ASIC into a brick.

At least with a GPU you can sell your graphics card, if this crypto currency trend crash and burns.  With and ASIC card, you might as well throw it in the trash if this happens.

I am currently mining DOGE, and then converting it to Bitcoin.

If I farmed DOGE with my AMD Radion 7870 Graphics card, and then convert to bitcoins, i make $304 a month.
If I farmed BITCOIN with the same GPU directly, I would make 1 cent a month.

I'm not counting power costs, because it is winter, and I can either heat the wreckroom with oil or with my GPU. So power is a trivial cost.

Now next week, there may be a better deal, as the various altcoins go up and down, due to speculation, pump and dump and other factors.

I use dustcoin.com to compare the most popular altcoins, and the profit I can make any given day (Hopefully I can say this, without breaking the TOS, sorry otherwise).  Notice that all the Bitcoin type algorithms (SHA-256) earns peanuts, compared to Script type algorithms.

I also donate 1% to the mining pool companies, as this money helps to pay for hardware and infrastructure, and its also good Karma.

Good Luck and Happy Mining.

You can mine Scrypt coins with your GPU and exchange to Bitcoin, this way GPU mining is still profitable

Yes - totally agree - with GPU now you can mine only scrypt coins - bitcoin is not profitable using GPU

Welcome back !  Smiley

If i only discovered bitcoins one year ago.... and not 6 moths ago, now i will have very much money, i'm afraid that you stopped mining in the gold era....

Patience is one of the most important thing in this market, long term vision (and luck) is the only one that will pay something.
