Topic: I was scammed from a blockchain fake app :( (Read 3420 times)

I used the blockchain wallet since I started with bitcoins more than a year ago. They email you for authorisation when a unknown computer wants to access your wallet. I have about 0.5 btc on there for a long time and it's still in my wallet. I think they are safe if you access your wallet securely.

After broad agreement that blockchain.info is one of the best if not the best online wallet - suddenly the recent couple of weeks we have horror story after horror story and people saying they have closed their account there etc..

I wonder if some competitor(s) wallet(s) are targeting blockchain.info and trying to capture customers...??

i am impressed how people are using those programs so easily and dont even check if its not fake, why people dont save their information and money at all?

Is not a big issue for me because i lost only 0.001bitcoin(0.03euro).
The big problem is the quality control for the mobile app to your store.
This guys give a bitcoin community site as their company site and a
bitcoin developer email as their email and with that fake details they
have upload a scam app to your store.
This is a big problem and i hope to resolve it asap.
I am a many year customer and i trust amazon for my order and for my money.
I think your company can handle this to not happen again.

and because i lost a small amount i dont have to warn the others? For you what i have to do simple silent and keep my life and thank "god" that i didnt lost much more money ?

That is why do not want trust anything from google store. They have long history of scam applications happily posted there. This is not the first bitcoin app which is rigged.
I saw reports from people who claimed that other 'wallets' of bitcoin "block 'explorers were infected with malicious code. If you want bitcoin wallet - only download it from Bitcoin.org!
You will save yourself problems in the future...

is not for the blockchain.info is from third party. they told me now from blockchain.info so i was scammed Is 100% my fault because i think was an official app but it was not. It says that is from blockchain ltd but is not.

i am sure that i never touch or give an order to sent this transaction. I think blockchain is completely crap in security and i was correct that all of this years i dont trust it.

There was lots of issues before that attackers exploit android bugs to steal bitcoin from wallets. There was an android-Bitcoin Malware on playstore/Google store. But the google have removed it already. Not sure if there are still apps like this. You might have downloaded a malicious software. That's why scrutinizing each app is necessary if you are using android wallet.

it's not blockchain's fault, i believe it's yours and your wallet was probably hacked. Maybe your device/computer had some viruses and malwares or maybe you put your details on a phishing site

Its possible that the virus/malware is programmed to work with the blockchain.info mobile wallet, and not the others.
I'm not saying it wasn't blockchain.info itself, but unlikely.
You should nevertheless scan your mobile device, just to be sure.

but i have and another bitcoin wallet in my mobile that didnt effect at all. And i dont have open the blockchain wallet from the firts day i create it.

You most likely have a virus or malware on your mobile device.

Blockchain.info used to suffice, but their technology is out of date and extremely vulnerable. It's pretty well accepted now adays that Blockchain is not an adequate wallet, and it has been this way for a while now. @OP, I would recommend not using blockchain.info in the future.

i have a blackberry and i think is the official bitcoin wallet from blockchain that in amazon app store because there is no other way to download android app there.
Normally i use bitcoin wallet that has a native client for blackberry. But how can so easy control my wallet? is very strange to me. as i say if you notice is like they have wipe out wallets with small amounts of bitcoin because i am not the only one victim.

is surprise to me how easy they steal this coins. Maybe the mobile wallet has a security issue but i use and bitcoin core wallet in blackberry for many months now without any problem. If you notice the transactions i was not the only person that sent btc to that adress. And all of the adresses has small amounts of btc. i dont know what that means

Blockchain.info does not have access to your private keys. At least they say they don't keep your private keys unencrypted, but its still possible. 2FA is a must on that website.

In amazon app store i think they have zero quility control. I have contact blockchain.info for this and they say they will look at it and i have contact and customer support from amazon. Their answer show me how poor is their quality control
