Now the whole market is in a wild drawdown. But the market is on correction. So wait. After correction, the price increase will begin. And you will read this post in the summer and smile. Because in summer your investments will become much more than $ 5000. So have patience and wait.

Forget investing in land or gold... bitcoin is the real game..  that was OCT-2017.

I started poring my small savings into crypto and for last 4 months I have invested $5000 on and off and did not get a chance to cash out a single penny. Just kept buying different crypto currencies and ICOs.

But as of today if I calculate all my crypto empire its valued $2075.

Where did I go wrong?

I'm sure no body scammed me.. I did all my prior research before buying any crypto currency or investing into any ICO. But still I lost $2925.

Is it only me or all of us (new comers) have similar story. Yeah we missed the honey-moon period of bitcoin but it would go this bad, I never thought of it Smiley

We can see in the past few days bitcoin prices are continuously reduced but can see the past two days bitcoin has turned and rebounded again. But if you watch bitcoin the past few days, bitcoin prices are leveling off at $ 8300 and it is difficult to overcome this milestone as selling power is extremely strong. I believe that only bitcoin will go down tomorrow and hit $ 5100 in the coming days.

What is the problem?
Bitcoin falls due to negative news and stupidity of power.
But nobody canceled growth, it can not grow infinitely, without correction.
What is happening now, the chance to invest a smaller amount to get more income in the future!
It is funny when people think bitcoin will just keep growing on and on without having some test of the support once in a while which is where we get the corrections. This is a good time to even invest the more. We have a market that has come to stay, so the mistake anyone will be making now is to panic. The market will recover and even bounce back better than before.

In fact, I expect everyone to know this before investing which is the reason we always end up having a lot of panic sellers, and this is what is making the institution to always win by instilling FUD into the market.

We can see at the moment that bitcoin prices have started to rise again but actually the momentum has not been strong yet and is facing huge resistance at $ 8500. As far as I can tell if bitcoin can break this threshold, it could reach $ 9400, but if it fails to break the $ 8500 mark, the bitcoin price will fall to $ 5100. We can see the market is constantly changing and difficult to guess so we need to be careful with the steps.

Right know just you have to do is to hold and invest more into it. The time you have invested to till now you have learned a lot of profit. Last month when the cryptos mass increase rapidly do not know you have earned a profit at that time.  Now the loss is both the market as well as investors are encountering, not just you. So what to do is calmly analyze the market situation and continue to hold instead of selling off.

Nothing wrong with you bro. Just keep it to 2020 and you will multiple your investment.
But first you need to convert it into BTC.

You went wrong because you were gambling on various cryptocurrencies and ICOs in the hope it would make you rich.

Next time, do your research, and make a plan for your entry price and exit price. And only invest what you can afford to lose.

No one scammed you, it happens. Unfortunately, you bought at the top when some whales decided to cash out for profit. Do not worry, it is a market, it will recover and by then you will be calculating your profits rather than your losses. I had the same feel some years back when I started investing into crypto and now, my investment has grown to the point that I really do not bother myself whatever happens.

If you have the guts, you can even buy more during the red zone of the market, but as time goes on, you will get used to it when you are swimming in profits.

i have been to this situation about 4 times in my life
i remember when i bought oil 3 years ago and it went down 10% every day and i felt the sky is falling,  but i kept my spirit high and i thought rationally, how can oil disappear ? trucks, planes will fly and use it. well, i kept all my oil stocks and after 2 years they started to rise slowly and back on track. it happened same when i bought some REIT stocks when realty crashed and i kept my spirit high and just didn't cash out.
the moral is: you only lose if you cash out.
if you don't believe in bitcoin why did you invest in first place ? that means you are a speculator - and most speculators are losers.
But if you believe in this and you think of it in long term you don't have to worry

Are you drunk?? Or you just want to make more posts and topic to increase your total activity?? Bitcoin was around $5k in october, and it reach above $6k early november, and start rally mid november so how could you said that you lost half of it?? I buy half of my bitcoin at that time around and sold it when price reached below $10k but i still got altcoins and so far when the price coming back, i haven't lose shit because all my investment was just back to square one to the price where i bought it at the first. I suggest you look for reality before you post anything, even you can analyze it at coinmarketcap
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/

my dear Einstein friend... why you would you even think that I bought $5000 worth bitcoins in one transaction? i bought in different times first in sep/oct and then at $8000, then $13000 and also at $15000. More you did not read I mentioned I did try to trade some coins here and there which contributed to my total loss. BTW as of today i lost even more now at $1645 Smiley

Honestly, I think the best option in your case is just to keep those coins and forget you have them for at least a couple of months, even years.
If you keep checking how much you've lost, you might be tempted to sell them at a loss one day.

It's likely that Bitcoin will again reach or surpass it's former value, but you will have to wait quite a bit for that to happen.

There are many people that did worse than you, so don't worry about it too much. I'm guessing you haven't traded for a long time, but try to forget about the prices, don't check everyday, and come back in a month. If you sell right now, you will probably regret it.

I cannot stay calm seeing this Crash, I mean this is real huge for us to handle. I still don't know why everybody is still dumping their holdings when we already get up to 60% of loss. Stop loss methods? This is crazy. I recently uninstalled portfolio tracking apps, this is the only thing I think that'd help.

It will go down even more as well so try to cheer up. I lost 95% of my net worth in less than 30 days so you can understand the condition I and my family are in because we made the big mistake of not selling our coins and tokens in the boom time. It has cost us a lot and now it will take forever for the market to recover. I do not think the whales will let us small people profit. From now on I will just follow the whales and when market is in Euphoria mode, will dump everything and then buy when everything is low again.

I feel your mood, but trust me, if you are not planning to buy more at this dip, just relax and wait. You did nothing wrong, you just bought in a "wrong" moment if we wanna talk in short term period.. but in a long term period, you did the right move. I can't see a coin/token that has a better price than december, so we are almost everyone in the same boat. Just wait.

If you're going to sell now, yes for sure you'll lose that $2925 of yours but if you'll be patient enough to wait until crypto stabilize and recover, you'll see that your calculated lose will turn into profit or even more than that, so keep waiting, our market will surely recover.

Most people I know locally are all upset and losing their minds.

They either bought somewhere around $15000 or so and are completely underwater losing over 50% of their money.

Or they bought earlier in the year at like $7k and didn't sell at all at $20k and ended up selling at break even.

Along with what happened with the stock markets, it's a very bearish month so far

Bitcoin has dropped from $1,700 to $40 before and in 2017 went as high as $20,000 in December 2017. I believe that the current dip  is not going to be the end of bitcoin or cryptocurrencies and we would need to have strong mind this time because I don't think the dip is over because the bull is still very weak and if this bearish is over then we would be happy we buy low.

True, never make another mistake investing inside trading crypto. It needs a high hope and a longer patience, a game of trust should be taking place. People who knows the drill takes advantage of the current situation, while newbies need to analyze well if they don't want to lose their money. If you have read most of the replies, you will get lots of positive reason to keep holding. The sweet success might be long, but it will be worth the wait.

That's why you should never put your money that used for primary needs , you would get frustrated to see the real crash right now. The situation seems went even worse your $20,000 turned to $6,000 with the current rates, but really when you invest the money that you can forget it for long term you might could see the new ATH come faster. Just forget your investment for future purpose.
I think a lot of people already know about it. Even though you have $ 1 million in your wallet, that number will keep decreasing in case of a decrease in Bitcoin prices. Be patient and be assured that the price of Bitcoin will rise sooner or later. Nothing can prevent the development of Bitcoin prices, Bitcoin prices will always increase especially if you already know the history of Bitcoin price travel. And also I want to give a little advice about investment. Do not use all your money and your savings for investment. You need to eat everyday and it needs money. You need savings to meet sudden needs. It would be better if you had more than one source of income. Because if one of your jobs is having trouble, you can still eat.

It depends. How long are you planning on holding anyway? If you're not planning on selling soon, then why bother? Dips and crashes has happened multiple times in the past, and will definitely happen a lot more times in the future. It's just up to you if you're patient enough to stay invested. After all, bitcoin is a long term investment.

Thats true, why you have to worry if you're holding for long term? Dont monitor the value and stop thinking about it for a while because its depressing.

Im hodling my coins for long term however I dont forget to take profit at times and enjoy my earnings. In fact I already get my capital and just re-invest all my earnings I got in my investment and now im waiting for my specific value before cashing out my btc.

I think that at the moment the market is extremely volatile, due to the bad news of the Chinese market about bitcoin has made the bitcoin price plummeted, this morning the price of a bitcoin has dropped to 7000 $ and there is no sign of rising again. According to my calculations, bitcoin prices may continue to fall further and reach $ 5400.

I entered the scene more recent than you but situation is somehow similar.  I came in during the ATH (which ofcourse i did not realize at the time) and seen my investments drop value week after week.

Been investing more during the recent dips as well only to find out an even worse dip a few days later (as we have another one at this very moment).

Not too worried though, i actually do believe that crypto can only become bigger than it is today.  It's still so early in it's life cycle that even we could be called early adopters still.

So i would say, do not worry too much, just work on a nicely balanced portfolio of projects you believe in.

good luck Smiley
Maybe this will make you feel better. I remember one of my cousin buying bitcoin around $4000 before the whole China crazy ban of ICOs which the whales decided to use to create panic in the market and caused some dumps in the market, he really wanted to sell for loss, but to encourage him, I gave him the exact funds he used in buying them and told him to transfer the coins to me which he did.

Just some few days later, the market recovered, moved past what he bought initially and he ran back, begging to give me those same funds back for his coins which I did because I needed to prove a point to him. If you are holding for the long term, just be patient and stop worrying yourself what is presently happening in the market, most especially if you ended up buying at the top, joining other FOMOs.

Crypto currency trading is like stock market on steroids and is the craziest rollercoaster ride and can really test your emotions,  it's easy 10x up or down so you being 50% down is okay,  don't panic and sell your positions at a loss if you don't need this money then just be patient and hold on and you will be rewarded for your patience you will sure double your money.  Also just a word of advice never put the money you need for your day to day or near future expenses on trading.  Put the money you can afford to loose and you will always stay happy and sleep sound. Best of luck!

I don't know what to say about SC: 1500, XDN: 1500, and ENG: 22. Because I don't know those coins very well, but I would do a thing with the other positions you have. All of them have decent potencial of growth so as soon as this down trend stop, you should be ok, as they will likely recover. From all of your holdings my favorites are BTC and ETH of course, but I've heard some good things about ADA and XLM (I also have some open position of those coins, and I don't intend to sell them).

If you are not good at trading, then don't. Just keep those coins as long term positions. No point in selling when there are good chances that we have already hit the bottom. I would be a little more worried if we crossed the $5k support level down (but even there I would keep my long term position on bitcoin). You must really set a strategy. I believe in BTC so I have a long term position that I will not move no matter what happens, and then I have a trading bankroll that right now is mainly on cash, but I do have some middle term position as well (like the ones I've mentioned about ADA and XLM). Since they are very connected to what happens to BTC, I would considering selling those if BTC crosses the $5k mark.
Than you for the advice and yes it make sense. Actually Sia Coin SA, Digital Note XDN and ENIGMA ENG were good projects I like their idea so made a bet. Well definitely BTC ETH will always be best.  Yeah i learn my lesson trading is not everybody business you need to be geek. Best option is to hold.

I hope BTC wont go to $5000 mark :p

back in October price was between $4100-$5700 and current price is $7700 how did your investment go down from $5000 to $2000?!!

that is only possible if you started buying in mid December (3 months later)
no i guess i bought BTC in OCT/NOV 2017 and that time price was at $8500, then in at $13000 and last when it was $15000. But I lost much due to trading in other crypto currencies.

No matter what is going on in the market just stay calm and hodl.....the entire alt coin market is down... nothing but red

It only becomes difficult when you sell your coins out of a panic. If you think: "Oh my god, I have to sell fast so that I even get something!". Then you actually lose. But if you just sit back, let some time pass, and look at the courses again in a week or two, maybe in a month or two, you'll realize that this "crash" was not a loss for you. So stay calm, sit back, relax and do not worry. Just wait and be patient. Where darkness is, there is light.

I think it is just the blood bath that is taking up your profits and nothing else for sure. I mean if you did everything with all the proper steps followed then I'm sure you are already in profits after you see the prices going beyond the the value at which you bought the whole crypto currencies. I'm pretty sure most of the loss is coming from the bitcoin side and there is no way to recover from it other than waiting for the bitcoin market itself to go up.

You might be in trouble with your investment at this point but I'm sure when the bitcoin will rise it will carry other altcoins with it to higher side and will make it even better. Your profits are assured just don't make the mistake of selling at this low value. :-)

it depends on how long you invest your money, if you do not need it now you do not have to bother seeing it, bitcoin is down now of course all other altcoin also decreased, not just you but all the people who hold altcoin are the same as you, nothing wrong with that. Grin

Don't invest what you are not willing to lose.  It's a mental hurdle that needs to be overcome.

I would unplug from watching the markets and set a date on your calendar to check back in, say March 1st.  As per the graphic posted above, things will turn around assuming you are patient.

It is not only for your also true for all. My wallet also down Cry over 1500$. It is very hard time for cryptocurrency. Every coin going down and down. We don't know when it grow up and we get a healthy wallet  Huh

This is for all those who have invested and stayed calm and kept holding the coins. It is fine this is volatility where the rise happen so sudden that it rose to 18k + and we all where so happy and it is tough time but it wont last for long. The smiles will be back on the investors and patience will be paid off.

It is really hard to see our investment going down but we had a really good rally last year, but it is impossible to sustain that kind of growth all the time, this is a timely correction after a long bear run and you should have booked your profits when the market situation turning negative with all the regulation news, now all you have to do is to wait for another rally rather than selling it now.

Forget investing in land or gold... bitcoin is the real game..  that was OCT-2017.

I started poring my small savings into crypto and for last 4 months I have invested $5000

But as of today if I calculate all my crypto empire its valued $2075.

Where did I go wrong?
that is how this market works. it is highly volatile and risky.
if you ask me i am still going to give the same advice i gave last year: bitcoin is a very good investment and buying at any price is very profitable in long term but at the same time it is very risky to invest in bitcoin.

and according to your other comment you invested in altcoins, they are even riskier than bitcoin. i personally don't care about them in long term at all. when i invest in altcoins i expect them getting dumped on me at any moment.

The game is not yet over, it's not a gamble where you lose and not able to regain your losses in the future you will still regain that, if you invest in highly potential coin like Eth, litecoin, monero and ETN stop watching the price for a week, it could go better next week.

You didn't make anythig wrong. You made a good asset allocation between crypto too. You only need to wait and try to weigt you crypto investment with other good inventment non-crypto related. Then, if you have some liquidity, try to increase 50% (so 1000$) step by step in next 10 day, buying 100$ daily.

No need for panicking about the value of our portfolio now because greater days are ahead. Cryptocurreny business is a green horn. Therefore, it is even better to invest in now so that the future will be assured. Buy into more promising icos if you can and this is the time to go for it.
hahaha thank you for advice bro... but no way Smiley i'm not investing more I will wait at least until I get back to break even Smiley

What is your cryptocurrency portfolio and in what ICO tokens have you invested your savings?
It`s not your fault. The entire crypto market went down.Just don`t sell anything and HODL.
I think that there is a correlation between the bitcoin price and token prices. The token prices increase every time the bitcoin price goes down, and they decrease every the btc price goes up.I might be wrong ,but i had some Viberate tokens last year and i sold them at the wrong time.
Don`t trade ,if you don`t have trading skills.

Well currently i hold like this
BTC: 0.161
LTC: 2.0
ETH: 0.212
XRP: 710
ADA: 770
XLM: 500
SC: 1500
XDN: 1500
ENG: 22

About $1500 in different ICOs (Mark.Space, WePower, Digitex)

Yeah i guess i'm really bad at trading and don't have skills in it. So I should stop the trading game and just wait and watch.

It depends. How long are you planning on holding anyway? If you're not planning on selling soon, then why bother? Dips and crashes has happened multiple times in the past, and will definitely happen a lot more times in the future. It's just up to you if you're patient enough to stay invested. After all, bitcoin is a long term investment.

Yeah actually not other option except to hold... yes I noticed like it goes down in start of year but will rise back to normal. Only thing which bothers is there were claims that bitocin will be upto $40000 in 2018.. well lets hope it does Smiley

I think this table should be put as a wallpaper on the desktop of every Bitcoin trader - Lol. Cheesy
But I have to admit that every time the prices collapses and you didn't sell high it really sucks.

What is the problem?
Bitcoin falls due to negative news and stupidity of power.
But nobody canceled growth, it can not grow infinitely, without correction.
What is happening now, the chance to invest a smaller amount to get more income in the future!
