Plan a Vacation in the South of France

An eye cannot experience anything more revering than to watch the Dune of Pilat hugging the Mediterranean and Atlantic. Being one of the most enchanted tourist destinations, France, especially Southern France, holds its glory in the eyes of globetrotters.

France offers a diversity of travel exquisites in its Southern part, ranging from the expensive Monte Carlo, yachts in Cannes and mesmerizing beachfront hotels all the way down to some budget-friendly experiences as well, that include, the food-rich culture of Southern France and capturing the bliss of river-side picnics, without spending bucks on swanks.

Nice, being the fifth most populous city in France, provides you with a great opportunity to experience different tastes of life. Generally, it is a budget-friendly city as compared with Cannes, which offers an opulent lifestyle and is renowned for hosting the Cannes Film Festival. There is yet another eye-plucking sight - Cote d Azur, that provides an elegant opportunity to enjoy clean waters of the Mediterranean, beating up its rivals, the Bahamas and Caribbean.

Vieille Ville, or the Old Town, resembles the streets of Venice and is one of the top tourist attractions in Nice, allowing you to go through the maze-like precise streets while experiencing the essence of French delicacies and sea food, since the Mediterranean kisses Nice with shrimps, fish, crabs and a lot more!
Since France offers a multi-cultural lifestyle, Pont du Gard and Arles give a brief highlight of Greek architecture and dominance of the outdated era. Pont du Gard is located near the Arena of Nimes, over the Gardon River and is an ideal place for river-side picnics and seasonal swimming as well – it is a recognized UNESCO World Heritage Site. Arles is an Archaeological city and has many renowned sites, which include the Gallo-Roman theatre, the Arena and the Church of St. Trophime.

Art lovers have yet another exotic place to visit - Musée Matisse (the museum of a French artist, Henri Matisse). It holds the elegant work of Matisse, serves as a place of remembrance to the French legend and hosts exhibitions and screenings of art films as well.
Your trip goes in vain if you do not happen to visit St Tropez, a place that is too sacred for words! It is shrouded by streams of yachts and terrace cafes, making it a heaven for the tourists. St Tropez is probably the best place to spot a celebrity in Southern France because of its peace-giving nature and is thus a source of photographic souvenirs.

France is laden with landscape beauty and its asset, Gorges du Verdon, makes it a strong rival of the Grand Canyon, Arizona. It has steep gorges aiming about 700m downward to the turquoise-green water, a seventh-heaven for the swimmers and boating lovers!
Due to the stinging weather in winter (November to January), it is highly recommended to trot the travel spots in France from April to September. Remember that the Southern part is not over-crowded and you could probably surf the diverse culture on a mere bicycle.
