Yep, you cannot delete your account. If you wish to abandon it, your best bet is to change your password to something incredibly secure that even you wont remember. Smash down on your keyboard a couple times, a 40 character password with numbers, letters, capitalization, throw in a few accidental symbols, and it would be real hard to hack.

Could I request an username change?
If it's a problem of username, do like buziss and redsn0w told or just create a new account with desired username. If you do any if the method, you should change the email in the old account(b0art) or use a new email in the new account.

I think it is not possible, you can only delete all your posts change your email address and after change the password in a random one ; after logout and forget the account.
While you can't delete your account, you can delete all your posts and change your password randomly. Though your posts may still be archived by some cache sites.
Could I request an username change?
You can by PM'ing Theymos or Badbear, but the chance that it will be granted is so low that it's easier to just create a new account with the username you want.
