I made a similar post to this a month or two ago when I was getting started on the forum. However, I quickly realized that it is simply not the way that things work on here. I will suggest that you just use the forum normally but look for transactions that would appeal to you anyhow. E.g. get some jobs with a skill you know, sell some of your junk for BTC, make a loan to a reputable borrower.

At the conclusion of each transaction, be sure to request that the user post a trust review for you, and return the favor.

It is also important that you try to transact with reputable users as their trust ratings will bear more weight and appear in a wider  trust network.

Good luck!

I would like to start building trust. Any advice? Any volunteers?

Thanks,
Bitfiniti.

In order to start building trust, your main focus is not to actually get the trust, BUT it is to make many good trades.  Let the trust come to you, I'd suggest staying away from the loaning section unless you really need the money, provide a collateral, and have a legitimate reason for it.

Trade on #bitcoin-otc, set up an OTC account, and post lots in the forums. Basically, the two components of building up trust are establishing relationships (through trading and discussions here), and time (which you can't really get around). The longer you are on here talking and letting people learn about you, the more developed your trust and reputation (whether that's a good or a bad reputation). Meet some people, make some friends, and establish some networks. Also LinkedIn can help somewhat.

Good advice. Thanks for telling me about #bitcoin-otc.

Most people who aggressively attempt to build trust are scammers which makes it difficult for honest new users to quickly gain trust. My suggestion is just to use the forum as you would normally and let your reputation build on its own.

Good luck!
I second this. Don't even think about doing reputation loans. Nobody believes those.

Alright. Thanks for the advice.
