This is the reason wordlist PRs have been stalling for years. There are not enough people fluent in both the local language and BIP39.

i think it is mostly due to lack of interest, you have already faced it in your local board according to your fist comment, and the current open PRs for new word lists suggests that too. people seem to be fine with using English even though they don't all speak it.

There's no one on my local board that seems to be interesting about that change.

This is going to be the main problem. The Portuguese wordlist that got merged recently had four people working on it, but there wasn't anyone else who spoke Portuguese to review it. According to a comment in a wordlist PR, the BIP authors need third parties i.e. not one of the wordlist authors, who speak that language to comment if the wordlist is OK for a BIP39 standard author to merge.

... Before we ask one of the BIP authors to ACK this (which is needed to merge it) we are going to need Polish speaker(s) who ideally understand BIP 39 to look over this and judge which PR should be merged (if any).

This is the reason wordlist PRs have been stalling for years. There are not enough people fluent in both the local language and BIP39.

You can probably create a pull request in the BIP's git repo[1] regarding this.

But, using non-English word list is generally a bit complicated. Most wallets don't support all of the languages for BIP39 and it would result in some inconsistency when trying to import the seeds into different wallets. I can understand why people would want multiple languages but some wallets probably won't bother consistently updating it.

Hi, I live in Greece and I believe that a greek wordlist would be a great idea. At least, I would personally use it. What is the problem. There's no one on my local board that seems to be interesting about that change. Besides that, if I've written 2048 words that are okay according to the rules, are they going to accept them? If yes, how exactly will they check my words?
