Final medal tally:

https://www.iaaf.org/competitions/iaaf-world-championships/iaaf-world-athletics-championships-doha-2019-6033/medaltable

I only posted those who won at least one gold medal for their country.

Again the competition is led by the powerhouse US team. And this is just preparation and could be an indication that Tokyo 2020 will be a good one for Athletics.

@YuginKadoya - Yes Kenya really did good in this year's competition, but then again they have they have been dominant in the last couple of years and their strength or specially is in the long distance event. And if I'm not mistaken, Nike has been sponsoring their athletes that's why their training method has a good boost resulting in a good showing this year.

Medal standing so far.

No surprise that USA leads as they are really strong in this athletics competition. Kenya and Ethiopia with the strength of their long distance runners. I expect Jamaica to have more medals though, they still have a solid team eventhough that Bolt is no longer with them.

There is no surprise that the USA had nab so much Gold and Silver medal and yes they had so many athletes to spare in many competition, I guess the dedication of that country can be a role model for many, but I think that PR of China and Kenya did pretty well too, It's just a bummer that I did not make any bets on particular to most winning category USA take, I hope next time we can see some major changes in times of winning and let other countries then take the first lead, So that the competition would be more balanced and exciting.

Thank you to have shared this picture here, but you should provide a link or at least mention it's the only eight first places.
Many more nations won medals there, as you can see in the Jating link

The IAAF is currently underway and today saw Christian Coleman being crowned the World Champion and Justin Gatlin and Andre De Grasse of Canada taking the second and third position respectively.  Placing second for a 37 year old is quite a feat for Justin Gatlin who made it to the finals by being the fastest loser in the qualifying rounds.

I have no respect for Gatlin, he’s served a couple of bans for performance enhancing drigs. It goes against everything that sport is about, to put it bluntly he’s a cheating bastard.

As far as I know this is not the first time that the World Athletics has been held in Doha so athletes and the coaches should know that the weather can really affect them negatively.

No more Usain Bolt that's why the US has dominated the 100 meters with them winning the gold and silver respectively. But the time was still off, Bolt still holds the record in the 100 meters and I doubt that someone in the next ten years are going to break that.
Watching Bolt run is like watching magic happen in real life. Blink and you will miss it!
I am sad that the era of Bolt is already over, sadly that is just how it is with athletics, especially runners.
Exactly, track and field athletes doesn't have a long career and because they are specialised athletes, sooner or later injuries will catch up on you that's why Bolt decided to quit at least he has the record.

When it comes to Christian Coleman's 9.76 seconds record, its not too impressive. But given the fact that I can be beaten by a turtle on its worst day, I will not take any shine away from this feat of human agility. What does bothers me is the fact the Coleman, despite being so young, already seems a bit too tired after his runs when compared to other runners his age. Is it just me observing this?
Like this kid attitude, I would agree that his time is way below the world records and the competition rather shallow. I didn't see him getting tired though, maybe just the case of being so hype and emotional after winning the race. This is one event which he hasn't won yet.

Maybe he gave everything and perhaps he lift one big hurdle on his shoulders and he was really elated winning the 100 m.

Remember his name was also in a doping scandal, so winning the gold here also somewhat vindicated his name and he has Gatlin for a competition, not an easy task for a 23 year old.

Hmm maybe that's the reason behind

Coleman, despite being so young, already seems a bit too tired after his runs ..

Its really sad what doping can do to you. I guess he faces some kind of ill effects from the doping. As far as I know he missed 3 dates for doping tests, and technically he could be banned for 2 years for violating this. IF that happens, he might have to relinquish his 'title' and there'd be no vindication for the allegations at all.

(I think he doped)

I'm watching this competition, but I don't bet on athletics events because I'm not expert in these sports.
Today we saw womens 100m final and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce won it easily.
There is new quite interesting even in this championship - mixed relay when man and women running at same time -it's fun to watch.
IMO, Doha was terrible choice for championship. Conditions for athletes is terrible - 40°C degrees temperature and huge humidity and they have to held events at night. And stadium is half empty on this championship.
But it's all about dirty Qatar money. And I'll just remind that next football World Cup will be held in this country :/

Right, read some news that athletes, specially long distance complain about the weather that's why they performed badly.

Shelly Ann if I'm not mistaken is the favourite in the 100m final and I'm glad that she won.

On the mens side, it was Coleman who won, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DZbKRRE93o

For athletes from countries where the climate is entirely different will be facing difficulty as their body conditions won't suit easily. The Oil money is the one that makes it, and if this has been conducted in some other countries it would have attracted more people watching it. People doesn't even know such a Championship is going on in Qatar, and this is due to the lack of promotion. Maybe this will be the initial step to slowly promote the final world cup match scheduled for the next season.
