What are you talking about? What could prevent a thief from knowing the email address of the person they are stealing from, if that's what you are referring to? Unless you mean something else by hint, I don't see how it matters whatsoever. This still does not answer the question of why anyone would come to you and pay money rather than just going to a nearby Apple Store and getting your ownership verified officially and the phone unlocked all for free. I simply can't see any situation in which you would be the owner and couldn't do it through those means.
