Most of the projects are returning the invested ETH or any coin that they prefer for their investors.

Nowadays, it's hard to find an ICO that will hit their hard cap since there are too many competitors out there that only wants to reach their own soft caps.

Yes I think the smart contract is created with a set of rules and if the amount set is not reach the smart contract automatically refunds investors ether wallet.

Hi, just want to know because im not much familiar about crowdfunding in ICO. My question is : If you purchased any ICO tokens created under ETH Smart COntract does your 100% of your ETH will be automatically refunded just incase the crowdfunding never met the hard cap or soft cap of a said ICO? thank you in advance for the one will answer.

You will usually get refunded if the project fails to reach the soft cap (the hard cap is the maximum funding accepted).

Looking at the project as a whole and looking at the team behind it, is very important to make a correct decision.

If I can give you guys my opinion, I discovered an exciting ICO that is very interesting: RAWG.

Check out this great article from Entrepreneur, one of the most popular business-related magazines, which has spoken with RAWG founder, Gadji Makhtiev.

https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/316194

RAWG is a blockchain-based platform for gamers that was born last year in the heads of Gadji and RAWG CPO Alexey when they found out that their gaming website Kanobu attracted users for their gaming database.

The ICO will start in a short period and they are at the moment in pre-ICO phase. This is the ICO site: https://token.rawg.io/. It's a video game discovery platform that converts your skills into goods and services (the site is already working, with more than 57,000 games in the database) and, which is very interesting, they have already reached the soft cap.

Have a look and get some information while doing your own research!

In some ico's hard cap won't be achieved by the targeted time period. In this some ico give step by step instruction to get their invested funds back. Some packs off and moves away, which makes the project a scam. To avoid such situation it is good to analyze prior to making the investment.

As you mentioned, a programmer can check and read the source code of every smart contract, My second question is: ICO Review websites can also include this as a proof the ICO will be trusted or not based on the Smart Contract. I never seen it rather than giving stars and comments. Wish there is a media that can review based on the source code aside from whitepaper, road map and concepts.

There is no ICO review sites which rate or audit smart contract of an listed ICO on their sites. All ICO review sites rate an ICO by looking through its vision, team, product, this rate is given by the site itself and its experts.
Some rare ICOs have smart contracts audited by 3rd trusted party, until now i only see 3 ICOs have this, one of them is Bob's Repair, their smart contract was audited by Hosho. Most of ICOs don't disclose their contract until you receive their Token. These ICO run via token sale dashboard on their websites, if you haven't receive your token in your personal wallet yet, your purchase amounts is just a number show on website dashboard. Smart contract audit is heavy technical work and nobody willing to do it free, and most of ICO don't want to disclose their smart contract during the token sale so i think, your wish can't be come real.

It will depend on each smart contract build... It's just like a regular software. As developer you can build it in your own way.

It depends on the team how will they recognize investors wallet addresses and the refund will be processed manually by them. If the ICO is not successfully, they will either announce it through their social media groups and channels. They will provide further instruction how to claim your refund.

Due to their terms and conditions, You must read terms and conditions carefully before purchase. Most of legit ICOs will give back 100% your funds if they can't meet their Soft Cap, not Hard Cap. I don't see many ICO meet their Hard Cap, in this situation, their project will be continued with products, roadmap will be adjusted.

Always read the whitepaper prior to investing in an ICO. Such things like what happens when the hard cap isnt reach are normally described there.

I agree with this, smart contract is build on Ethereum network, there is no fixed way to build it, you can build it the way you want, but there is a reason we see no one before build it to auto refund, beside the huge fee they gonna pay,  until this moment I did not see single ICO commit with there soft or hard cap and neither with their time frame, all ICOs adjust their time frame and their caps depending on market condition and how good/bad they are doing, for example right now there is some ICOs still running and they supposed to end couple of months ago .

Which is why it is very important to research on the ICO and everything about it before investing so you'll lessen your chances of getting scammed.

No, ETH smart contract is only for investment when you send ETH to this smart contract address and receive tokens immediately. Normally, This smart contract is not for refund from ICO, it will be refund manually by ICO's team when they want. Or you have to follow refund instruction that you have to put some code to get refund from smart contract.

Hi Harryvnn, so there is no no way for you to have your money back if Devs from ICO run away.. Thats why i see most of people upset when Devs and founder runs away and steal there money..
