That is true - STOs are the ICOs of the next generation. More secured. And by the way if you are the one who is planning to launch your own ICO/STO - i strongly recommend flexe.io/131  These guys were really good and DO understand how fund raising works.

You must identify projects that you think will have good adoption or a ideal use case. do not buy something that there is already 5 coins.

unecessary competition, also alot of ico are cheaper when they are listed

I think flipping tokens is not different than buying stocks shortly before the IPO. It is akin to playing lottery but with higher probability that you win.

Take a look at Pally app Smiley. Low hard cap, ongoing ICO for decentralised social travel. If you buy now, you will surely make at least 2x on exchanges + there is a referral program. If you wanna make up to 7,5% bonus for your contribution, PM me (anybody)

I think it all depends on the project. If you do not believe in the product, during the bounty period, dialed tokens, then you need to sell at the same second. If this is a real product that can bring income, it is worth the wait.
As for me, what is that Flux.fund is complete nonsense, which is created so that the owners earn money and make another one of the same projects.
And if something like Confideal, one can wait. These guys have some to lose. As for me it is the best background for investors.

Only way someone can make good returns investing in ICO is get in the pre sale phase, not the official presale but the friends and family rounds kinda phase. For christ's sake, salt was 25 cents in the 1st round.

If you can do good researches, flipping ICO is possible cause a lot of ICO has shown that the value will increase after ICO. Like 0x has x6 in value even during ICO, kyber now is about x3.5 while chainlink is about x4. MTH is initally about x2. However, i do not sell all the tokens and i usually hold promising long term ICO while i take back my base. In this way, i would see the current ICO tokens as free and i wont fear even when the price drop.

how is it possible that the price grows even during ICO? How can I spot this ICO?

If progect have good PR, but have no tech, better sell them fast. If have high tech, but very few people know about them, i keep it.

check out Pally, amazing team, low hard cap Smiley))))

Theoretically, it is a right method and gives you profit. But in the real world nobody gets rich with ICO flipping. You'll finally get burned somewhere, and you never get any big money...

You want real money? The only road that leads there, is to long hodl valuable assets. I remember I was told this 1000 times, but like every other newbie I needed to be thought by a cruel teacher called "experience".  Cry

It depends, some altcoins are gold. So they kept it whatever happens. If you bought a not so good ICO with lots of discount. Better SELL it all. Be first to sell it in the exchange site. Wait for some investors to dumped it. If the ICO has a bounty, wait for the arrival of bounty hunters as they will dump all their coins too. Once the coin reached the hell. But it all from the Dip. Wait for it to grow. #PROFIT

Who of you flip the ICOs? I mean buy during presale (ideal situation) or during ICO and sell everything once it hits exchanges. When do you sell the coins? Within first minutes? Or do you wait some time? What is the best strategy? thx

cool thanks for your kind answer, I am thinking about Pally right now, but better for long holding than flipping Smiley

flipping is generally discouraged.. it's straight market manipulation and does not offer anything but short term profits. People are buying a presale, the coin pops to the market, they make a 300% return and sell the entire thing. This might work once, or twice, but you'll get busted one time and it'll hit you art (like a scam, or people selling sooner than you). One way or another try to avoid flipping, just buy and hold whatever you believe has a future.

Since I can sell my coins 24/7 (dont need to sleep at all lol) I dont think sbdy would sell my coins earlier than me Smiley. Thank you, I think i will try to grab easy 300% profits Smiley

Flipping requires a totally different strategy, one that's more like an ebeneezer scrooge strategy.

For max profit, it doesn't matter how great the team or project is, there a three basic things that matter: hype, initial coin supply and what % of it is available to those who participated in ICO, and when and what exchanges it will be listed on.

If hype is big, expect to dump them fast.
If initial coin supply is lower and distributed evenly, wait for larger gains before you sell.  If a large percentage is in the hands of developers or whales expect a huge dump.
If the coin is listed on limited exchanges then expect harder sells, the more variety the faster you can liquidate.

...well, obviously this is pump and dump mentality which many (including me) believe is ruining the world of crypto.  But fast money can be made albeit with many risks.
I guess the question is, should it be made that way?
Wouldn't it be more satisfying to invest in projects that you believe in and have something to offer rather than join the thousands flocking to crypto in hopes of being an overnight millionaire?

short term flipping is likes gambling, it is just luck!
if you get it, good! but i don't think we can replicate to all other ICOs.
different ICO require different strategy, so best is to choose which one you understand, and believe it will deliver in long term.
of course you can trade it in short/medium term to earn extra, good things is if when it drops before you manage to sell, you can always hold it as you understand it and believe in it in the first place.

I still think there's value in holding at least a small percentage of your total holdings in projects that you really like/believe in.

If flipping I think you should be happy if you hold for a few days and get 3-5x return, plenty of ICOs coming through with the potential to keep doing this.

I have sold Monaco for 1$ just after it got listed on bittrex but regretted that decision because it hits $20+ just after 10 days.  Sad Sad

I could have made $8000 with my 400 Monaco which I have bought during ICO but I sold them for $400.  Angry

I don't think flipping is ideal strategy...

Oh god it sucks!
In any case, you received the income. Impossible to guess what price will show the coin. I think it's always better to have a small income and a large lost opportunity income how long to wait for the price rise and eventually lose everything. The market is full of offers and if you will always have a small income it will bring you a better result than risk losing it all.

I made some quick bucks flipping kyber  and salt which luckily i was able to get registered for the whitelist of. However I think the time of making this kind of money has far gone now. Most of good long term ICO's such as Blackmooncrypto and MobileGo which had gathered more than 30MIL and 50MIL are trading under the ICO price. IF you are looking to flip ICO's, I think hardcap should be under 3MIL

I dont ICO flip I invest in projects that I actually like and want to do well. When you are looking for quick flips it makes it harder to hold when things dont go your way, not an ideal strategy at all.

I only invest in ICOs (2) i believe in. The project must sound good, team must look solid, the tech.
But im thinking about ICO flipping with the presale it seems very tempting.

the main rule : don't spend more than you can afford to loose!

buying presale to guarantee that you will not sell less than presale price but if you believe in project you will hold infinitly

I personally don't invest in ICO's for quick profit. I actually go for the ones that actually have a project that brings something new and that I believe in. I'd go more into straight trading for quick profits.

You just need to pick well and buy in to the hype. Post ICO most price changes are purely based on hype so you just need to understand when the overall mood is still of confidence or not.

I'm waiting some time. If price go up 2-3x in some days i sell part to get back my invested money, and the rest leave for some days or even month.
If you flip after firs exchange, you will newer get 30x profit. Think about it. There is no interst to get 2x and flip it.
The other chose is to invest in some funds, like in my signature, and they will do it for you. Good luck and find your lucky ICO, witch give your 100x in one month

I'd be very careful with some of those strategies as ICOs have a huge number of variables that will affect the way each on reacts. You can use some of the strategies as a guideline but be adaptable and have contingency plans. If you are new to ICOs, don't expect that each one is going to give you 5-10x return immediately, though a select few can. Do a few practice runs on previous ICOs and back check your methods. See how much they went for during presales/ICOs and then follow the charts in their first days/weeks/months.

Best move? Just wait for the right time to sell out your stashes specially when it hit up on exchanges but be fast before bounty hunters would able to dump their free coins. This thing usually happens when theres an ICO happening. Strategy would be your own experience because as an investor you would able to find out what would be the best move to do into this kind of opportunity.

I am new and have not to date done any ICO yet just because I am choosy on what I want to join.  That said, I watched many to learn and to purchase.  It looks like the sweet spot is (at least on the ones I watched which are good coins/tokens) is sell at 5x the ICO value which happens a few days after they hit the main exchanges.  They tend to correct after the peak and dive down to 50% of ATH...so even for good coins, you can sell everything at 5x and re-purchase later. Cheesy

My approach for really good/excellent coin/token would be;
- sell 25% at x4 (recoup all your investment at that point), then
- sell 50% at x6 (pure profit),
- sell all remaining at x8 (more profit).
- re-purchase at correction/dip a week or so from start.

Adjust multiplier targets as needed or if necessary.

Just MHO...and plan. Wink

If I can, I sell most of it as soon as they are listed. There are no guarantees of finding buyers though, and with some coins you have to wait a very long time to have your order filled.

I tend to wait until ico dumpers stop selling their coins. Then I am obtaining more cheap coins. I think this is better strategy. Putting money right into waiting for speculations, isn't.
