Read the Whitepaper, determine whether or not the coin / project is fulfilling some sort of need that isn't already being addressed.

Look at the team. Do they have professional experience that matches their crypto project?

I set a target amount in USD that i'm willing to invest, and put 25% in the Pre-ICO. If the pre-ico goes well, I'll put 25% more in toward the end of the Pre-ICO

Once the ICO goes live, I monitor it to make sure things are going ok and put the other 50% in.

Keep an eye on the Cap, and try to engage the team about their reasonable expectations (see if the coin has a Telegram channel so you can connect with them)

How important is it to you to monitor the momentum on an ICO? Do you want to be the first one when it starts to get any bonuses or do you wait to see how quickly tokens are selling before you decide to buy in? Or do you think this is an irrelevant concern and just invest in whatever projects you believe in regardless of what others do?
Nowadays all are using smartphone. So always monitor the momentum on an ICO. Before token sale I was analyse carefully. This was profit or not and also check the current market rate. Once I invest in ICO next one month automatically monitor myself. Because this project value we do not decide suddenly. So I was wait and monitor the ICO

It is a case to case basis. We cannot say for certain that there is a single manner of doing it to all ICO investments. There are ICOs that I will invest based on the very strong turn out of their Pre-ICO. There are others that I will invest no matter what because I am 100% sure of the project as well as the team and company. There are also ICOs that I will invest when they hit a certain percentage in a certain number of days.
