"There's a mark born every minute, and one to trim 'em and one to knock 'em."

There is some very good rules in Kickstarter, like projects must create something to share with others and real prototype must be presented to mention few. ICO's are mostly presenting financial services or investments which are forbidden on Kickstarter. Also gambling sites are forbidden there.
Imao ICO is getting more and more weird and definitely need some community control. If the situation will proceed as it is today most likely ICO as a form of investment will be restricted in most countries.

ICOs are the new crowdfunding but the founders really don+t produce anything but a whitepaper. There are absolutely no legal obligations. No products that need to be given to token holders like in Kickstarter. And basically no say in the company, no dividends, no value distribution like in shares. The are selling FOMO of bitcoin to stupid people.
