No 90% of ICO is a scam, many people lose their money in it, and if SEC and crypto regulars don't come to this market, it will die in some time because people are not all fools.

You need to be extremely cautious since 2018 is the trend of ico projects and a lot of projects after pre/sale will be leaving the market 
Now all ICO have problems with fund raising but I think it will not last long. Competition in this area is great and as a result, only the most worthy projects will remain, which will attract investors.

Failures and successes are a common thing now for ICOs. The reason for this is too much competition and people have experiences with ICOs. Some have gone bad like scams and some are good. These experiences will be their bases for choosing to participate or not at all on these projects.
Most of the 80% of the ICO projects at the moment are fraudulent but if we are a longtime investor then we can identify which projects are potential and which projects have deceptive signs because the ICO market began to grow in 2017 and many became millionaires but many also lost all their assets to ICO MLM and Lending projects.

ICO is another term for purchasing coins at a early stage. The coin will be going on an exchange eventually so who cares.

It will burs definitely. It's a shame for Ethereum. ETH doesn't worth $1350 at all. I like Vitalin Buterin because of smartcontract but don't like the way these contracts been handled. ERC20 tokens will ruin ICO unless Exscudo or other professional team step in with audited smartcontracts where investors are all protected. It may be the year of 2018 the end of ERC20 mambo jambo. Sorry for legit start-ups like ArcBlock or SingularityNET.

I think we are already seeing this in that the ICO's are really starting to be tech focused first now (as the industry once was). Last year we were way too heavy in the "sell the sales video" type ICO. I think we are back to the tech focused "we love building on this amazing technology." Or I can hope. Am I going to be the only one hoping that trend continues?

I think that ICO will survive but this market must grow up and mature. Most of them are done by enthusiastic people with ideas but without a proffesional researched roadmap and after getting the money they dont know what to do with them, and they become a scam. I think that the community should stop givind attention to those kind of ICO and in time they will dissapeare. We must be more selective even with the bounty campaign in wich we subscribe because by wearing theyre signature we are promoting garbage and fill the space with them.

And what will happen to them? They grow like mushrooms after the rain. Every day I scour the ratings of new ICОs and every day I see new names. I like to study new projects. Sometimes I just admire the idea of the developers.
