Today I was navigating in bitcointalk looking to people that in the past was wondering about bitcoin and charity; we spent quite few years now to develop Helperbit, now is live since a couple of days, please let me know if the platform meets some of your ideas, any feedback is welcome.

The thing I am wondering is with the current fee situation/predicament, how on Earth can we consider this a possibility of success when fees are so high? I mean to send a $25 donation you would need to send a few dollars also in fees. It isn't really realistic. I think a different coin such as Litecoin would be a lot more practical in this regard.

This is just an idea, so thoughts welcome. It could be similar to the justgiving.com website (where people get donations, usually in return for doing a difficult challenge, towards a set target). All money would go directly to the charity/ies of their choice. Using BlockExplorer and a static payment address this would be easy to set up. I think it would help improve the perception of Bitcoin as a useful currency in the eyes of the public. Thoughts?

The idea was good .  But peoples take wrong and misuse of this service.and in internet not easy to find
eligble person for donations.

I swear one of the Charity sites has something like this set up.  I thought there was.

If the charity has a Facebook page, you can take this idea.  The whole key is to set up the donation page itself nice for both the Bitcoin and non-Bitcoin user.  Promote that page to where it actually has a few donations.  I guess $500 to $1000, I am really not sure what people consider a decent amount as far as charity.

After enough time passes to collect, present the donation to the person.  Say the page is open and people are still giving donations.

Charity is always a good way to introduce a new product to the public.

I was hoping this forum could help generate some ideas  Grin

Even just a homepage with 1 charity a week featured on it and a bitcoin tipping address would work. Then all the money goes to that charity directly, or via JustGiving.com
