Ah ok ! Writting in bold only the "t" or strikethroughted it would have been easier to understand Grin. I'm sorry, in French there's two "t", so I did the mistake.

Anyone can already participate in threads in the Off Topic or Politics section so just create threads in there if you want to talk about literature, history or science but there really isn't any great demand for these sections so I doubt they will ever be added.

That's sad. The Off-topic section has a bad reputation, so if I start to create numerous thread there, people will see in my stats that I'm  active in this section, and I will be qualificated as "a sig spammer" or as "an off-topic spammer" Undecided... This is just a proposition, so if theymos judge that it isn't needed, I'll respect his choice...

I doubt anybody is going to look at your stats and think that but what happens if your proposed subs get a bad reputation or signature campaigns don't include them? Most campaigns will look just look at your recent post history (if at all) when judging whether you're acceptable or not so as long as you keep your posts constructive then you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

If these sections ever exist and that no signature campaign accept it, then I'll left these campaigns without any doubt. The changes in this sections seem good, maybe this is the dawn of a new era for this subsection. Another idea would be to create a subsection of the Off-topic one for the possibilities that are interesting in my proposition. This way Off-topic would be less messy.

There is a "new rule"[1] in off-topic that "low value threads" are no longer allowed. This might be the perfect time to make these thread and change the perception of the section from "meh, only used by spammers" to "wow, there are actually interesting topics and discussions here".

[1] its not actually new, but there is now a sticky to make it clear.

I do like the idea of having those boards as long as they're not dead.
but based on the number of threads about those stuff in the off-topic (and sometimes politics&society) board, I suspect that they will be dead.

The problem in the Off-topic and Politics & Society boards is that it can be considered as off-topic (at least for me). If such sections ever exist, you can be sure that I will be amongst his major contributors. What's good in this sections is that anyone can participate, because anyone have red a book someday (at least they should have, and if they didn't, the literature section will greatly improve their life). In science, with all the things that are going one these days, there will always have something to discuss. I've already said that music isn't my favourite board, but it can potentially interest everyone. Finally, the history section is the one with the highest potential. I could literally create one thread per day about something and always have something to discuss with repeating what I previously said nor getting off-topic.

As far as I remember, I've always been interested by science. Sometimes, there is a few topics discussing it in the the Off-topic section, but this is always a bit sad and not really interesting. Creating a science subsection could allow people to discuss the big progress that is currently being made in astronomy, or everthing that is going on the scientists' planet ! A science subsection is definitly a good idea I think. It would be my 3rd favourite.

I love reading, and since I know how to read, I red a lot of differents books, of different kinds. Literature is something important for us, this is about culture. Sadly, no one is talking abiut this. There could be some interesting topics, discussing about the books that everyone red. One could make a suggestion, that could make people read this book, and then discuss about it. The creation of a literature subsection, could be benefical to everyone to escape from the numbers and discuss about masterpieces or common books. It would be my 2nd favourite.

Music is something that everyone loves (there's some exception), so a dedicated subsection could make people discuss about it. Since this is the suggestion of the subsection that I like the least, I have not that much arguments to defend it. This would be my least favourite.

History, one of my biggest passions in life ! An history subsection could allow some people to post topics about a precise domain. People could instruct themselves without leaving Bitcointalk ! There's nothing I can like more, this would be like a dream. This is my favourite hypothetical subsection.

All this subsections could be condensated in one big subsections, called the cultural subsection. This cultural subsection could be located in the "Other" board, or could have it's own. Tell me what you think about it Wink ! I greatly hope that it will exist someday !
