You mean like italki.com?

When are you going to make this website?

Along that suggestion but different. I'm not talking about having to send you details to apply to be a teacher for a company, more along the lines of anonymous usernames teaching eachother, many of them young people around the world working for less then minimum wage.

I'm not making it. I have none of those skills. I like to post ideas anyway in case clever people see a use for them

Seems to be like yahoo answers but with submitting a small bounty for the best reply. Sounds like a really good idea.

The reason I say use existing sites to bootstrap from is that its difficult to get quality content as a new site. Use the existing knowledge sites to build on top of and utilise their reputation systems.

If I want to learn russian or chinese it might not be worth my time to pay for classes, let alone a private tutor in the real world. Yet there's probably someone on the internet willing to teach for an hour for a tiny amount, below minimum wage. And perhaps there are some well-off families in Asia wanting to pay a native english person for tuition.

So in my idea I upload bitcoins to a website on which I could find various people willing to teach different things, at different times, at different prices, to suit me. I could also teach someone else and either withdraw the bitcoins or use them purchase lectures in new subjects. There would be a feedback/review system, so someone who wants to start can do so by simply teaching for free, then slowing increasing his/her price through fractions of a dollar, until whatever the market standard is. People particular good at teaching or who have very specialist knowledge could charge a premium.

The teaching would be done via voice communication and a Khanacademy style flash interface (graphics tablet recommended). Every session will be recorded. This could be used for security reasons (from speaking to strangers on the internet) and as a way to build a reputation by releasing past sessions.

Unlike a traditional website which does this (if they exist), you wouldn't have to hire tutors and pay in advance, or pay them minimum wage, or background checks. The peoples teaching would be people you've never heard of. All you do is create a website and take a percentage of transfers. People on the site would not need to donate large amounts of money or give their personal details in order to start, they could try it out by depositing just a few cents anonymously. They do not need to give away their identity beyond a username and a microphone output. The site would be very simple and entirely driven (wages, content, prices, reputation) by the users.

hm... free to play even reached the porn industry. why not do a http://www.myfreecams.com/ style educational project? Students can pay for good teachers. Patrons could pay the best teachers for others, too. I could imagine this would be very cool with lots of media attention but Bitcoin would just be one of many payment methods as for payed services, it is crucial to make it as painless as possible to pay.

I think lectures and teaching will eventually all be free (Khan Academy and Academic Earth being good examples). But there will always be a market for is one-on-one tuition, where you're actively talking to someone over your microphone or attempting to tackle a problem on the sketchpad and getting active feedback on your thought process.

That said, each time I've visited that site, I think of Bitcoin and how it could be used there. Unfortunately, I'm not on it long enough to develop a marketing plan before I come back here to this forum fresh, and ready for action.

I checked myfreecams and clicked "tip". It requires being a registered member, therefore giving personal details and having the transaction appear on your bank statement. It seems so obvious how much better it would be to donate a couple of cents anonymously instead with bitcoin, and I wonder why it isn't adopted.

Thanks to my market research, I'm somewhat an expert on this site. In my notes, I've noticed that some of the girls play a little game to garner more tips. Once certain levels are reached, they do certain things. What things, I'm not sure, but take my word for it that there are things that these girls do. Now, all a girl has to do to preform certain things, is request to be tipped with Bitcoin. I'm sure that those RandyFolds types will figure out a way to get their sticky fingers on some of them bitcoins just to see a certain girl do a certain thing.

Finally, my market research is jacking paying off. I'm sure this is how some of these girls are paying for their tuition. Hell, some of those rooms look like dorms.

Dad: How's school, Pumpkin?
Daddy's Little Girl: Not bad. Got to go to work now.
Dad: Where you working?
Daddy's Little Girl: I'm doing live porn on the internet, dad.
Dad: LOL! Later, Pumpkin.
Mom: What's so funny, dear?
Dad: Our little girl is such a kidder.

I swear to God I'm somehow being watched or my internet connection is being tracked, then shared with this community. How the hell else could you have known about http://www.myfreecams.com/ if it wasn't relayed to you via my activities? Yes, I've been to that site. Several times. But only for market research and to listen to the background music. Heaven forbid, please don't drag my sister, nephew and dog into all this. They have enough problems.

My favorite is this petite South Korean girl of which I swear I've seen her living room before, but can't quite place my Bitcoin Magazine on as to where.

hehe Smiley

do you know if the girls and dogs may show QR-codes in their video or present otherwise ways of payment around the token thing? They get 5ct. per token which is about 60 somewhat % of what watchers pay on average for them. guess the site operators wouldn't like to see direct payment.

besides I'm afraid people would tip more tokens for a *** ***** than for top class education. proof me wrong Wink

yep, mfc is not anonymous but for teacher-student-situation this wouldn't even be a problem. ask mfc if they would do the teaching-thing and hand over mfc to you to do it in bitcoin. would only make sense.
