Another idea I was thinking might be to take the small fan off and instead point a larger fan at it, not sure if it would push enough air into it though

You can reduce fan speed of you do not push the unit.
So how many watts do you want to use with it.

My calculations show about 1050W at max so 1155W accounting for efficiency which is about 72% load. Im still awaiting some adapters and risers so can't test the real load yet.

So I brought the APW3+ PSU from Bitmain because of it's high efficiency and good price but totally overlooked the noise it produces. So now im looking for ways to try reduce the noise from it, it dosen't need to be whisper quiet since it's in a room far away, but reducing it by at least a little bit is needed.
How have you guys tackled such problems?
One thing I saw mentioned was putting in a small resistor so the fan has a lower RPM, any reasons why I shouldn't attempt this?
