one advantage of bitcoin is that it is fairly easy to automate.

if you could post programming jobs with
  • a spec and
  • 2 sets of test-cases, one public one blind

then a programmer writes code and when the tests pass the site could automatically pay out the developer.
if he believes the blind test was written badly he could dispute it and there should be a resolution mechanism (maybe manual)
I can look into this but that may take some work cause of all the security involved

I can look into that only problem that for like php
on the other hand, i honestly see this only working for very, very simple projects/assignments.
any real-world software i have written involved a great deal of communication between programmer, project manager and client.
I will make sure communication is the key concept after a jobs are posted and accepted

Hey now theres an idea, maybe once this project gets some footing it could implement a feature to allow others to join in the messaging that way the programmer isn't forced to relay messages from the project manager to the client or any other combinations of communication you can think of... that would be quite helpful!

So like a comment system for each project so everyone can get in on the convo?

I believe 2 times already exists that accomplish your 2nd proposal. Im not sure if they are still active or used but I remember seeing them 8-10 months back. I guess if they were successful they would still be known.

The 2nd one sounds like a must and a great idea.

Agreed on #2. I would personally use this service since it would allow me to easily offload some coding work to a contractor without having to actually hire a long-term employee.

Are you planning on starting this yourself?

i am looking into it right now I just need to figure out designs and features so i may start writing it my self.

pm me if you need a tester Cheesy

1) My first idea is a site where IOS or maybe branch into android developers can submit redeem codes to the site, and we would sell them for BTCs. The btc price could reflect the current USD to BTC conversion, or the developer could set a new BTC price of there choosing.

2) My second idea is a good place for bitcoin working developers, I haven't really seen one that is just for programmers. It would be like rent-a-coder, but very different people can make profiles and anyone could setup an ad, there would be trusted ad posters and trusted developers.

So those are just two ideas I want the community to gauge for me, and who knows either one could be a reality...
