The era of cryptocurrency has arrived. When the BTC passed. I think there will be a stronger currency born. Definitely. Only the currency that replaced BTC has not been found yet. I don't know what will happen in the future. Wait and see

If bitcoin not survive, I don't believe all cryptocurrencies will die.  Maybe the market will go down for a moment but there are so much altcoin out there and there are more altcoin to come too.  Every coin/token offer their own benefit.  I can't say will it be ripple, etherum or any other altcoin to take the place but I think the price will be more reasonable.

If bitcoin dies, the market will probably collapse. Because the coin is the most trusted but it dies, all remaining altcoin will not be able to give investors confidence. The downside to bitcoin is a normal thing in the crypto market. It does not say that bitcoin will die when price drops

I think the bitcoin will survive and will work successfully for many years. It seems to me that the predictions that bitcoin die will give passivists who do not believe in the crypto. So, bitcoin has really dropped very low now, but in the future it can grow high.

I do not think the bitcoin will disappear. If that happens, I do not think there will be any coin capable of replacing it. Because bitcoin costs 15-20 times more than eth and hundreds or thousands times more than other altcoins.
In few years ago bitcoin prices is in a lower rate which it is often not much popular by investors but as you look it still survive so I believe that now there's a lot of individuals who involve right now probably I'm sure that it will survive in this bear trend .
After being recognized and become popular those who holds and wait till they seen the success are cashing it out and allow new investors to enjoy, I'm sure it will be back and it will rise high again, fuds are part of this industry so better to prepare yourself to much more similar things and news that will showed up just stand firmed and enjoy your investment even in the bloody type market, wait and earned a lot after some years of holdings, learned from those early believers.

Been holding since 4, no regrets. That being said, this being my most profitable stock, first stock and not having that many (less than 50), I'd hold out just a little longer. If you have a good buffer before breaking even/losing money, why not see where it goes? There were so many times I kept thinking about selling and now I'm in a better position if I do sell

Financial assets die slowly. This can take more than a year. Therefore, if BTC died, the agony can last about a year. But I think that BTC and crypto will not die in the near future. If will invented with better security and with instantaneous transactions, then anything is possible.

If bitcoin does not survive, there are many possibilities that someone thinks that it will impact death for all altcoins and that someone has the opinion of Ethereum who will replace him. I have another opinion about the decrease in BTC which does not mean death, btc must survive, do not panic with what is happening on the market

In my own opinion Bitcoin will survive for a long time and will do so because there is a demand for it and many are still making money out of it. If bitcoin cannot sustain the investors and companies needs to earn which I think will happen in a very long time, then it will not falter.

Yes, bitcoin is here to stay and it will continue to grow and become more potential but if bitcoin doesn't survive the crypto market which I know is not possible, then altcoin will also cease to exist and that might be the end of crypto because bitcoin is the oldest crypto and it controls the price of altcoin.

In my understanding of the crypto market this is also not possible. Bitcoin will continue to move upwards for a long time. I can not even imagine what awaits us if it does not survive.

Bitcoin will survive although the price right now is still down more than 50% since the all time high but it is still higher than the price last year at the same period so it is still growing. People really act like it's going to end everytime bitcoin price is down and we've seen a lot of times that bitcoin will come back stronger than before.

bitcoin is like the mother of all coins. if bitcoin goes down all the coins also follow.
in my opinion that can follow the price of bitcoin, namely ethereum. because ethereum has almost as many communities as bitcoin. and I judge at the end of 2019 ethereum will occupy his throne.

Like you said, it is hard to imagine what the cryptocurrency space will be like without bitcoin, being the center of all crypto activities from trading, to investment to whatever, bitcoin is always going to be involved. In this case, what would make bitcoin not to survive will actually possibly affect every other cryptocurrency if you know what I mean. So, in that case, I still see no replacement. Even if there would be, not from the ones you even mentioned.

Everything has a beginning and an end, but Bitcoin is very far from the end. There is no reason to worry about it at all and the rest of the coins may even surpass bitcoin but it will still be there.

Sad ... but I think that when the bitcoin disappears a new leader will appear, although I do not really believe that bitcoin can be removed by someone. The fact is that the rich people of this planet have already managed to invest their money in this matter.

at the moment we find it difficult to determine the movement of bitcoin will all change drastically down or up, and this kind of situation is better for us to hold back and be patient for a while until the maximum price returns..
for the replacement of bitcoin, I'm sure that ethereum will be able to provide the same price with bitcoin..

If ever bitcoin will not survive i dont think so if theres alternative crypto that can survive considering that the strongest and profitable coin is falling so theres no reasons that other weak coins will not fall.

If Bitcoin died then it would be a death for the whole cryptocurrency sphere. Imagine this situation. All people would start to withdraw their money from altcoins, including Ethereum, so I think that nothing can replace Bitcoin. Maybe later, they will try to reanimate it but nothing will happen.

Nothing could replace MySpace, but it got overrun pretty quickly. Nothing could replace askjeeves or Yahoo, but Google stomped them into the dust. Nothing can replace Facebook, but people are fleeing.

Nothing lasts forever, and in the tech space, 1 human year is like 20 tech years. Things get old really quickly. Bitcoin is very strong and stable for now, but never say never. There could be a bigger and better solution, and no one will know it until it's widely implemented.

As for me, I've got a bit more hope for Ripple than ETH because it seems like it's got a bit of support from retailers. ETH is kind of struggling to define itself as unique right now.

people are all giving your their experience and opinion and sometimes in questions like this some bag holders start advertising about their shitcoins. but let me give you a better answer.

go to coinmarketcap.com or any other exchange or website that lets you see the charts. now take the last 8 months and compare bitcoin price during drops and altcoin prices during the same time. their behavior should give you the answer you want.

If that truly happens Ethereum would be the best candidate to replace Bitcoin. Ethereum nowadays have the most trusted coins existed and many alternative coins have been very dependent to Ethereum using their platform in a Smart Contract Platfrom. Also according to coinmarketcap Ethereum stands to the 2nd place as most market cap existed at the present now.

Ripple, EOS??? Are you kidding, not even in the same planetary system lol.  Ripple is pretty much for banks while EOS has very little practical application to most users.  Bitcoin has infrastructure and is deeply rooted... VERY hard to see BTC going ANYWHERE for probably 100 years... okay, at least 20 years.  But okay... IF...

IF BTC were to somehow perish then one of its forks could rise to take it's place.  BTC-cash could do it.  Ethereum is interesting but I don't see it taking the place of BTC or that is... I don't see Ethereum being used the same way BTC is used.  Eth could easily overtake marketshare from BTC if ICO successes continue but that is not the same as taking the place of BTC.  BTC is a utility coin by this point for point of sales and/or intermediary exchanges.  Eth is too in some ways but it is more dominated by ICO and smartcontract exchange of services.

many think if bitcoin fails, they can move to eth, ripple, or eos. but the fact is when bitcoin down so does the other coins. so indeed bitcoin can not survive, leaving crypto world is the best choice.

If Bitcoin does not exist, the only altcoin that can replace BTC can only be ETH. If Bitcoin does not exist, the only altcoin that can replace BTC can just be ETH.
