I don't know why people are waiting for the SEC Announcement! Do you think bitcoin needs regulations? SEC will be rejecting cryptocurrency continuously! But still, we are waiting for the SEC Announcement in September. Where SEC already rejected cryptocurrency a few days ago!

I really can't imagine what will happen if bitcoin goes to the under regulations! The government will take bitcoin's control, bitcoin will lose its anonymity? What will happen actually? Please share your opinion.

Thank You

The next big question is how they are going to regulate something that was created as anonymous and decentralized, they can control a part of it but not totally the whole transactions because no company or government can manage that, they will have to spend millions of dollars and lots of manpower.

Possibly they'll be able to control the local exchanges operations, like KYC implementations and not a total regulations like of fiat currency. Decentralized and anonymous type of currency should run independently with respect to transactions which isn't dependent to current fiat economy. The freedom of each community always talk about what's the best for our future economic growth of a cryptocurrency.

I believe that the regulation of cryptocurrency is necessary for the further development of this market. To build consumer confidence, add confidence to investors.

I think that when bitcoin goes under regulation then we would have better prices of the coins in the market. There would be less market manipulation and a few people cannot manipulate the prices of the coin to go in their favor effectively screwing over other people. There would be way less scam coins in the market is there is regulation.

You can also joke about it, LOL.

It is true that there must be a value gap in cryptocurrency, whether Bitcoin will increase its price or go down.
If Bitcoin is accepted, the SEC is good if the price goes up, then what can we do with the Bitcoin price?

I honestly don't like this and bitcoin doesn't need the SEC and other regulators. I can't imagine that btc and other crypto are under the control of a regulator, they will exacerbate crypto and potentially large manipulations will always occur.

I don't think much would happen, the market would most likely stay the way that it is, there would just be more rules and regulations for people to follow but I think that is it. There would not be much to stop market and price manipulation and the volatility will still continue in the market, people will keep losing money if they are not careful

at least if Bitcoin is legalized by the state, it allows all nations of the country to get an easy way to buy Bitcoin
that way, the existence of Bitcoin will become very popular and also the altcoin will follow a positive trend
at least with the regulation, we can have BTC safely and the prices are well controlled
I do not think that Bitcoin can come under regulation. Its idea was that no regulation is needed. In my point of view it gives people freedom.

I think what most people want is a regulation around the ICOs and getting the KYC strictly adhered to in order to control scams around it, not the government intervention as to control cryptocurrency. Any attempt to control cryptocurrency will inadvertently retrogress to what Satoshi Nakamoto set out to avoid from the onset.

Crypto wild, wild west will be gone once FULL regulations steps in.
I think, some regulations are needed to prevent scam, but not entirely like the equities, commodities and bond market.
I still prefer some anonymity in the crypto space. Grin

Government can take anything they want to keep macro & micro economic running, but depend on what and how give impact into market is long discussion. Regulation is good but most of them only for people with power and money not like us. We just follower not leader, accept it as risk is better.

Less market manipulation, less insider trading, one person can no longer sway the entire market in their favor just because they have the money to do so, the average investor will be protected and they would not have t worry about irregular market movements anymore which will be good for everyone involved in it. it would be better

If it goes under regulation then we would have a better market, we would have less manipulation and insider trading, these things can be made punishable by law just like with the stock market. Regulation is what can bring back any iota of sense into the market. The prices will be way more stable and we would have less brutal price dips.

In my opinion, that won't happen. Because if possible they might have done it now. I believe blockchain will be more popular in the future and maybe the government will be involved in it. But I think Bitcoin and a lot of Altcoin will still be what they are today, because maybe the market really wants it.

SEC has rejected all ETFs. But they issued a statement that would test and make a different decision. And to me personally this market and bitcoin do not need the existence of ETF, the ETF has no effect on this market and the market will continue to grow without the SEC approving the ETF.

The SEC will not regulate anything and the government everywhere cannot ban the use of bitcoin. Even if the SEC approves the ETF, then that does not mean that btc can be regulated by the SEC, but all businesses are related to btc.

You still don't understand core principles of crypto and that is that NOBODY can take or control the money from you. Thats right so even with rregulations if you want to hold your money with private key that you own you should be fine as nobody has the right to cotrol your money then. Regulation is good as it could potentially boost the trust with people about crypto as there are many people that believe that crypto is used on only to buy drugs and all sorts of shady things that people might think of.

There are also positive moments from bitcoin control by the government. For example, it's BTC's support by state banks and wealthy investors who will not be afraid of their contributions.

Bitcoin is one of the best instruments for gray or black operations and because of its decentralization it is better than using offshore schemes. US government can force other countries to inform their about bank accounts of any person but it can not regulate decentralized cryptocurrency (there are many ways to circumvent their prohibitions).

for now, everyone's belief in the existence of bitcoin is one of the most important things in the crypto world generally.
and if indeed the government has taken control of bitcoin, I don't think that will happen. the government will only make regulations related to bitcoin. and bitcoin anonymity will be maintained by bitcoin holders.

I don't think regulation will let Bitcoin lose its anonymous function. The current situation is precisely because Bitcoin is not well regulated. So the government needs a more effective way to implement it. And I think that once Bitcoin is regulated, it is definitely a big plus. This means the government's recognition, once the government approves, then the market's expansion rate will rise rapidly.

Bitcoin going under regulation will definitely be a bad news,  but it can't be fully regulated caused it's not traced to a single country,  transaction from fait can be easily regulated and control so also the launch of new project,  but not bitcoin.

If bitcoin go under regulations it will definitely going to affect bitcoin in many ways especially through taxation and control.  Governments cannot adopt cryptocurrencies because it is not taxation and that is why they are banning it.  Once bitcoin is regulated government's will centralized it and have full control of it.

I think Bitcoin can't go under regulation because no one can control it. Bitcoin is anonymous and we can't know who is having how many BTC. They can only know when we sell Bitcoin to get cash through centralized exchanges.

The market is bitcoin, it is a wild west, outside the rules and laws. There is only code, and it is the law. Neither the government nor their bodies can change this. Yes, there are manipulators and speculators, so they create a news background that would move the market. But this only affects people who do not understand the essence of the bitcoin project. Bitcoin must be outside the legal field of states, his fate is P2P.

I believe in many innovations in the future, and the evolution of blockchain might make crypto closer to the government.
But I think Bitcoin will not be taken over, because the only real reason is that everyone really wants Bitcoin to remain the way it is today.

I don't think that will happen. A government might decide to compromise with crypto, but if they decide to use it, I will believe they prefer to make it themselves. So I think Bitcoin will still be Bitcoin, and maybe it also applies to many altcoins.

SEC is not rejecting cryptocurrencies! they are no one to even be able to reject anything!
what they are rejecting are bitcoin ETFs and they have nothing to do with "cryptocurrencies"!

as for regulations, bitcoin does not "go under regulations". bitcoin is a decentralized currency which literary nobody can regulate. what they can regulate is the businesses using bitcoin, the exchanges, merchants,... and they have already done it to some extent a couple of years ago. and that is only US, other countries are different. for instance bitcoin was regulated last year in Japan and was adopted as a legal way of payment.
again none of it has anything to do with altcoins. they still remain the same pump and dumps. they go up and down in a manipulated market which will never be regulated because of it.

The world has opted for rules and regulations for smoother and secure working possibilities, and there is nothing to fear from such regulatory authorities. Crypto too is under such scanner where it is still hard to gauge its extent and scope and limitations, hence the delay in any concrete decision. Personally i feel our world is made for progress, and no one would deliberately curtail or reject any such venture.

Once Bitcoin is regulated, it means that the state will have the right to control the cryptocurrency, but the essence of cryptocurrency is decentralization, so I feel that even if we want to supervise, we can't complete supervision.

I think cryptocurrency does not require technical regulation. because cryptocurrency runs according to the system. it's just that a very important regulation is about the effects of applications that use cryotocurrency, taxes, regulations related to money laundering for example.

When that happens, maybe fluctuations will be very stable and it will no longer be a thing that attracts many people. But I think with some technical reasons as well as industrial interests, that won't happen, at least crypto will only survive when Bitcoin remains a mystery.

the problem that now often arises is the nature of bitcoin and crypto that cannot be regulated because they are decentralized without regulation and partly, and on the other hand the fear of many countries and banks is the opposite when crypto is difficult to regulate. between crypto and many countries must have a kind of mutually beneficial agreement with the regulation, I hope this regulation will make crypto be accepted and shine rather than castrated or discredited to be barren

I do think if there will be any regulation we'll have both positive and negative impacts.
The positive impacts will be more adoption and less manipulation.
Negative impact is it'll get less volatile, and many people will lose interest for that.

It's really difficult to regulate bitcoin. All they can regulate is exchanges based on fiat money. This would be a portion of bitcoin trade but not all.
And it would also legalise bitcoin, increasing its use and adoption. This would increase the price and off the regulation trades.

Very interesting, but I think that speculation like this will continue to make the crypto market live and survive for a long time. Because if Bitcoin and other crypto start to be in government regulation, I think we will only do transactions like forex, which will no longer be of interest to many people in this community.

You can't control crypto, you can only trace transactions (which takes some time) and put "taxes" on them, provide rules and etc. Who will actually follow these guidelines and rules, some will, most will not. Bitcoin will never be fully regulated, because of the fundamentals of blockchain.

The SEC and U.S. government don't even know how to classify cryptos, which will ultimately come first, and under that clarification, there will be a clearer regulatory guidance. I expect this to occur within the next year or two.

What will happen is they will create a clear definition for Bitcoin, Ethereum (& ERC-20) and XRP, these rules will then accordingly be applied to the rest of cryptos, as all others fall under one of these three/four classifications.

What comes after, i coulden't tell you.
