Hello Respectful Members.

The merit points are most important thing to get high ranks,
I saw most of the merit points giving to high ranked peoples,😂
but we are struggling here for 1 or 2 merits.

any ways...

My question is: i if gave merit to someone's post then my merit points will be reduced?

I suggest you don't think too much about it.
If you find good quality post, something what contribute to the forum or help others, than reward such post with sMerits, if you have sMerits to give.
There is really no reason to keep them for yourself because you get nothing out of it.
As explained to you, it's better that you focus on writing quality posts as this is how you will start to receive merits from other users and progress in the forum.
That way you will always have new sMerits to give to other users and reward good posts in the forum.

Well i'm accepting this as advice, Thanks for sach awesome words

Nope.

You have currently gained 8 Merits, which entitles you to 4 sMerits (sendable merits) to send. Merits and sMerits are two different counters. The former does not decrease (unless you’ve been naugty and @theymos reverses some TXs, which is pretty rare).

Well thanks for the guidance

Merits are two kinds...

Merits which you can't send to others, it always stays to you. This relates to your ranking (Merits + Activity = Rank). This never gets reduced.

Spendable Merits (sMerits), for every MERIT you receive you will get 0.5 sMerit. You can use it to merit other's posts. This gets reduced.

For more info on merits, check this thread. Read Merit FAQS.

No, the merit you receive is different from sMerit (sendable merit)

For every merit you receive, you receive 0.5 sMerit, which means for every 2 merits you get, you are able to send 1 merit. The sent merits are not deducted from your own account.

Read/reread Merit thread if you want better info.
