But another aspect is the heat output, wiring, and the nature of that. Wouldn't want to come back to a burned house if you machine doesn't have any other problems.

Another idea might be nicehash and mine to ck pool? Just put in a 5 to 10 th order every week or so. I think you can have open offers for 14 days there.

Even if Lee's system detects all downtime, and he does not have to report it. OP would for sure have to send monthly hosting fee. So I guess it would depend on OP where hes going for a year. I would assume he has internet and can monitor it and pay monthly. It just is not 100 percent no touching like hashnest as far as buy it and let it run.

I just am not sure on it if he truly is away. If going to be away and not able to monitor I think hash nest has some pretty good guarantees. And you really never have to be there, or send monthly payments. It's all done automatically.

no that is a shit deal you go to market and buy from 1 to 10000 or more at current price.

So on Hashnest it looks like I can either buy a miner, or I can pay 1 BTC per TH/s. It seems like 1 BTC per TH/s would be the better deal no? Before investing this type of money I need to know exactly what I would be getting myself into.

On a S7 no. That is a lot to spend on a chance of soloing, and if you pay electricity it's even higher so a ongoing cost.

Solo is fun but personally I only do it with much smaller miners. I just don't have fun putting all mine on solo and get no return. Remember with solo its like the lottery, chances are with 1 S7 you will not ever hit

They likely did this so they can get fee's from miners easily. If they did not do this and allowed solo they would have to ask for payment monthly vs just taking it straight from mining earnings.

That's what I thought when thinking about it. Just S7 on hashnest you have no worrying about working, and they have people to do the fixing if something goes wrong.

For a year to have no issues is kinda unheard of. My ones with a month were pretty good for a miner. You really have to have physical access this is why hosting center is better home if your going to be gone a year. And cloud takes it one more step of not being there.

The key is someone beside you monitoring it over the next year.

The odds of a machine running for a year are not great. I have went over a month on certain machines. But a power outage, internet outage, etc. In a year you chances are will have a issue.

That being said you can leave a computer home with teamviewer. Have an account and leave it signed in on startup. You could deal with some issues that way. It is possible it could take a power off/on depending on what miner it is some are better then others. But if that you could need someone to physically do it. If you truly don't have anyone who can do a restart I would not buy one.

Or look into hosting or if S7 there is always hashnest. Then you can not be there depending on what it is.
